At one point they actually closed the bridge for both ppl and cars..

I'm pretty sure it remained open during the entire time. I think people in Iowa City were waiting for it to close, but it never ultimately did.

That is alot of pressure on that bridge from underneath, I would be afraid to drive accross that!!! God Bless!

As someone who once drove across that bridge every day (for about 3 years), I appreciate this update. I find You Tube to be the best source of what I really want to know about the flooding.

Thank you for sharing. I lived in Hillcrest in 1996. I remember the river being frozen, some flooding, and twisters but nothing like this.
