In the movie which was showing you the complete opposite of what really happend Sylvia didn't see her parents before she died. She died at the end of October and her parents claimed her body after they found out she died. Then the rest is history.

The thing also is-the women was not there mentally. It's true no human should endure what Sylvia did but it was also a time where the family had no money and the women was in distress. Sylvia is dead from brain hammorage (sp) shock and something else but it was really all from the beating which in reality was worse. Those people went as far as making the poor girl eat urine and feces. It was Sylvia's spirit at the merry go round-where she feels safe...the only place she felt safe. And it was just a dream of being free at the end and it was her spirit asking Mrs. "Wright" why or some explaination.
