@yomstg Hey man. I had the fortune of being able to ask Joe this question backstage at the HMV Hammersmith Apollo gig in London. The reason is because he had a load of guitars tuned down half a step due to Chickenfoot recording and gigs etc. The album "Black Swans..." is also in this tuning so he just decided to do a whole set in Eb/D#. Which I thought worked really well with some songs like "Flying In A Blue Dream". Hope this helped.

If you look closely you'll see that the slide is taped/glued onto the harmonica

Classic piece, he needs to do more with that harmonica...not to mention 10-15 other instruments he plays.
