  • It is much more better, when you have not only 3D point cloud, but also a polygonal model and high quality texture... AgiSoft PhotoScan provide this functionality. agisoft.ru/products/photoscan/

  • Only 3.5 million 3d points, come on boys you can do better than that! ;p

  • Awesome I love where 3d is going...

  • Amazing!

  • Wow, I've been to Dubrovnik 3 or 4 times, that city is fascinating. It was cool now to recall those places. I recognized everything they showed here...

  • lol. hi guys -- the "black things" are cameras. the 'tip' of the black thing is the focal point of the lens and the black box on the end is the field of view. this 3d model was extracted from thousands of photographs likely taken from flikr. It's like photosynth... on crack. Google photosynth for a demo.

  • Wow. This is... this is big. Looks like they registered Stradun perfectly. You can tell right away where tourists gather most, since the data points are densest.

    Awesome stuff.

  • It's not about the representation, it's about the data set.

  • it looks lilke its made with #D scaning and geostudio

  • Aww my city :D I walked there like million times, fantastic work it looks authentic. btw- black lined structures on the ground and on the walls are probably ppl, and little dots in the air are pigeons, one more time - great job guys :)

  • Wow. This should be in Virtual Earth 3D.

  • Awesome! But what are those dots in the air? Maybe pigeons?

  • I'm from Croatia... this is amazing! How many pictures is that?

  • those "cameras" are the viewpoints of the photographers, right?

  • Yes, each of the black wireframes represents a viewpoint of one of the photographers.

  • Yes, look great :)

But how do you build the 3D points representing the vertices and edges of the buildings ?

I don't think you extract the sky edge from photos ?

  • 150,000

  • Muy buena idea jaja :-)
