So how do you get a witness to sign your notebook and ask people about your invention without just having it stolen from you? I don't understand how I am going to sell my idea if I can't tell anyone. You mention meeting with other people. Seriously, how do I do that without giving my idea away?

@free2bemejess Talk to others only about benefits/cost or very cautiously (to end users, not to field pros) about numerical features, and never about the method of solving the problem nor present schemata/drawings. In HiTech field it's common practice, but If it's simple yet of genius proposition to ease a mundane challenge or inconvenience, use metaphors.
