Do they have a special unit dedicated to this guard duty or do they bring men from various units? It is a very special unit known as the Old Guard in the U.S. Army which does this duty. I have noticed something re: such honor guard units. They never include Navy or Air Force units. Is it b/c these are presumably Army personnel & no Navy personnel are interred?
@VictorLepanto Good question. I am a ten year US Army veteran. Traditionally it is the "Ground forces" that are chosen to perform the guarding of the sacred military sites. The Army and Marine corps are the the ground forces for our country.
I prefer the knee bending when moving forward, then snapping out straight when coming down and moving back. Creates a strong marching sound and looks a little less goofy. Also, only moving the leg out 45 degrees instead of 90.
Still laughing from 1:02 hahahaaaaa
