i am cherokee and i follow cherokee ways my family moved away from the reservation. when i was younger i always wondered why i was darker then i found out my background. and why i and my family do things different. then i founf why i am cherokee indian and pround of it
I'm half Cherokee, a quarter Choctaw, and the rest is some odd mix of English, Scandinavian, and German... I do still follow the Native ways, and I'm only 17 years old, and I was raised by a christain family, but I just felt it in my spirit, my soul, that I was supposed to follow another path...It was only later that I learned that I was honestly following the Native ways without EVER learning how...(I know this sounds like bullshit, but it IS true)
I try to explain this to some people, but they always think it's complete bullshit. The soul just knows. & even if we're not full bloods, even if we don't live in Native communities, we just know or "remember" how to live with the earth in a better way.
