The term basileus is of course Greek, and it started replacing the word anax from the Mychenean Era. (800 years before Macedonian hegemony in mainland Greece). The Greek alphabet is based in the Phoenecian, and it was used in 3 versions. The macedonians (either greek speaking from the beggining, either hellenised later), appear to be writing only in Greek language (with Greek alphabet of course), and NO other language is ever found in the archaeological sites.
