@canadiananim8r The hitbox is much smaller than the sprite. It's not unusual for projectiles to pass right through many parts of the ship and some games actually reward points for doing this.

Actually, IIRC, in order to fight the True Last Boss and actually complete the entire game, you cannot die EVEN ONCE until you fight the final boss.
