This is a great song....4get about all those other people that have a problem with the pictures. I was abused if not physically, emotionally and mentally. I tried popping pills, and when that didn't work, I turned to alcohol. These pictures are much better than trying to 'numb the pain'.

@teagardner1990...Yeah, which really sucks. That they didnt help me the way I thought they would. The best thing for me to do, I think, was to get more deep into my studies more so that I can have a chance at getting out, and hopefully making somebody else's life more meaningful. I got into my church a lot more in the youth. Going to all the youth functions like Camp Sparta which really makes me feel Im really at home. I cant promise it'll get better, cause honestly, I dont know myself.

During an interview, Rob (the singer) said that the song was written about a man who had been abusing his wife and kids. Rob helped bring the issue to light and stop it. He wrote the first verse about that, then turned it into his own story from there.
As for the video, it definitely fits. Great job with it. Though, since so many people can't stand the rape picture, I think it would have been better to put some kind of warning in the beginning, just to stop people from complaining unnecessarily

This song tells a story of repentance. The father abused his daughter, but in the end felt horribly guilty. Heartbroken, he asked his daughter for forgiveness for the tears he caused. One of the key themes of the bible is repentance. Through that, this song glorifies God and therefore fits under the 'Christian' label. A song doesn't even have to have Christian influences to be considered so as long as it glorifies none other than God Almighty.

They are telling a story for a girl and her dad who can't tell it. Women who have been through the same thing find the song inspiring like they might be able to forgive the guy who physically or sexually abused them. That is what I wanted for in the video. I did not want to hide what it was about because I found it.....

I wanted to post it with all emotions attached and I know a few women who did not want to post on this male dominated hate fest that have told me in my personal messages that it has helped them. I myself have been sexually and physically abused my father included. my mom's boyfriend and friends of the family from the time I was 5 till 16.

@jtruls There was one hentai to get the point across. Not everyone knows what the words in the song means. I found what they meant and went with it. Sry if I offended anyone like I said I used this video to be therapeutic for what I went through, for what the video is really about. I have been sexually abused by almost every guy I have met other than my husband and another guy. up until I was 16. AKA all of the sexual abuse was before then.

who says that is a christian song? They may have some christian influences but they are not like seventh day slumber kind of thing you know,it's about rapping and then the mother saves her child and then an apology trial from the dad can you tell me a christian thing in it? I bet u can !

This song tells a story of repentance. The father abused his daughter, but in the end felt horribly guilty. Heartbroken, he asked his daughter for forgiveness for the tears he caused. One of the key themes of the bible is repentance. Through that, this song glorifies God and therefore fits under the 'Christian' label. A song doesn't even have to have Christian influences to be considered so as long as it glorifies none other than God Almighty.

@MrArsenalinho It tells of repentance and forgiveness. People should not have to not tell about if they have been raped or not just because someone hearing it finds it offensive. They are telling a story for a girl and her dad who can't tell it. Women who have been through the same thing find the song inspiring like they might be able to forgive the guy who physically or sexually abused them. That is what I wanted for in the video. I did not want to hide what it was about because I found it.....

I wanted to post it with all emotions attached and I know a few women who did not want to post on this male dominated hate fest that have told me in my personal messages that it has helped them. I myself have been sexually and physically abused my father included. my mom's boyfriend and friends of the family from the time I was 5 till 16.

I feel I need to chime in and apologize for stepping on toes... A couple of the pics are inappropriate. That is not something a child should see, yet they are able to through this. Secondly, any song that glorifies God or Christ is a Christian song. 'Christian' is just a label for music. This song is simply a soft rock/alternative song. Just like Slipknot is simply Death Metal. Pillar is deemed Christian because of their beliefs and lyrics. Same reason Slipknot isn't. 'Nuff said.

@Die4Jesus the one pic that I choose I tried to choose one that did not show as much as others while still conveying what it is about abuse and what I myself have been though. The feeling of being pined down or forced and sexually abused in any way. I know you feel kids should not see this but I was sexually abused by the age of 5 and raped by the age of 12 and if I had a song that I could use therapeutically back then I would have been able to get past the feelings of shame and guilt and others

I still stand by that, for children, the pic is inappropriate, but I have dealt with sexual abuse in the past as well and I do understand where you are coming from. My only point in commenting was, not to condemn or judge you, but rather to point you in the right direction. You can convey meaning without the use of some "questionable" objects.

I have posted it to help me get over what I went through. sry for all of you that think that every childhood is sugar coated gum drops, who think the worst thing that happens is there parents grounding them or they see something on a video. If I had this at 5 when I was sexually abused or 12 when I was raped and beat up till I was 16. I would have been good for me. I was 17 when I posted.

Maybe because the band's Christian.... the song could be about rape, I'm not sure. It's talking about something that definitely implies it, and I think it's saying that the mother eventually saved her and that she's the daughter's 'angel in disguise'. I looked for a translation on the song, no luck yet.
But still, they are a Christian band.... the album this was on won a Grammy for Best Rock or Rap Gospel Album.

I thought it was more like the dad was cheating on his wife and his daughter found out and told her mother because I didnt catch anything about the father being abusive, also the lyrics say that her father was out for a long time and that he finally picked up his cell phone to tell his wife he will be home when he can which also hints me to him cheating and then she leaves. I could be wrong but it sounds like that to me lol.

Wow, really good choices all around. I am quite puzzled by the Christen outcry towards this video, my impression is that the song is about a little girl being raped by her dad...So, I think it fits. Great job cutting the video.

for me, it's not totally the Christian thing. it's just that it's a beautiful song, and those picture (or some of them, anyway) were just plain disturbing. i couldn't even watch the whole thing. it's not exactly about a girl getting abused like that. it's just part of it. it's about the man who abused his daughter and the mom finds out, so i think she leaves him but saves the girl and he's feels guilty and sorry and he's asking for forgiveness.
