this was/is one of my favorite rap albums of all-time. i listened to it faithfully and dutifully. yes, it contained violent content, but so does everything in this society. art imitates life. i've never came close to being sent to jail or prison. never committed a violent crime. never been arrested. never been shot. never 'slapped' my wife. it's just entertainment. when you're raised with solid moral standards you don't go out and imitate what you see and hear in movies and music.

@MrTwilight3030 thanks. the old school rappers were just rhyming about what was happening on the streets every day in their hoods. they rarely went out and got arrested for committing crimes. these new rappers today don't understand that it's just entertainment. they actually feel that being arrested and jailed helps their record sales. i blame the corporations for that. that's not what REAL hip-hop was meant to be about. alot of these young rappers have dropped the torch and sold hip-hop out.

2...world. there are still some good rappers out there who remain underground and are true to the art of hip-hop. mos def and twelib qweli. common. public enemy is still droppin' bombs (check out their HOW YA SELL SOUL TO A SOULLESS PEOPLE lp-2007- VINTAGE P.E.!). the roots. rakim. krs-one. nas is still sweet. he talks about jewels, clothes and cars sometimes, but he still drops good knowledge. dead pres. etc., etc.. so hip-hop is not quite dead, but the power structure is trying to kill it.
