I'm from the US, and I'm not even going to watch the US version based on this alone. The UK version sounds half as forced, and twice as entertaining. I'm only on season 2, and I'm beyond hooked. Won't even waste my time on the US version.

I hate it when the U.S. take something and make it Hollywood. Look at the programme for what it is, it's about the awkwwardness of growing up and some of the things life MAY through at you. Leave Hollywood out and adapt the programme accordingly. We may be cousins, but cousins don't have identical lives. So take the storyline and look at how growing up in the U.S. is you you.

Of course UK people are going to think the UK version is better and US people will think the US version is. Because the UK version is adapted to the life of someone in the UK and the US version fits American teens more. That's why they adapted it.

The reason why the US one sucks is because they based it too closely to the original. They did the same story with bad acting, bad mirrored characters, and bad everything. They should have made their own characters and stories just with the same tone.

@IVIuRRMaN I think both countries have annoying teens. The difference between UK Skins and US is that the US Skins is on MTV so it's more censored so obviously UK skins is better. You would have to be a complete imbecile to not tell the difference.

The reason why the US one sucks is because they based it too closely to the original. They did the same story with bad acting, bad mirrored characters, and bad everything. They should have made their own characters and stories just with the same tone.

I'm proud to be an American, but this makes me ashamed that I'm from the US. I've always loved British Television & been a fan of skins sense it came out in 2007. Just because another country has an amazing show, america feels the need to take it? COME ON! WTF! Other countries air our shows, so why can't we?! Plus, the least they could have done was change the plot! Skins US is complete bullshit. It's a fucking parody!
