  • @Jeffha99 the definition of seeming out is changing your beleifs for fame... not your sound

Rise against changed their sound but their message remains

  • Rise against was a fantastic band until they sold out big time. Thursday still manages to be one of the most original bands in the genre. so stop nerd-raging over tim in this song

  • Tim McIlrath, I thought this song is awesome already. He made it way more amazing. Rise Against and Thursday belong.

  • I love Thursday, and this song is great, but seriously, this is Tim's song. Tim owns this song. TIM MCILRATH FTW.

  • Comment removed

  • yeah tim mcllarth =D this is a awsome song =)

  • well the act of thursday as preband of rise against was cool. But from the point on when Tim jumped on the stage joining in the song I was freaking out!!! I couldn't believe my eyes. I mean you were like expecting rise against after all prebands were done and your were just waiting for it and in kind of a trance and suddenly I hear this awesome voice and I looked: HOLY SHIT! O__o it was great *_*

  • i was ther in offenbach/germany in november 09 it was a fantastic concert!! special guest of rise against. This was holy shit!

  • i love all the "accedent" and "ambulance" metaphors in thursdays music

  • Love it when Tim screams "BREATHE IN, BREATHE OUT, RESUSCITATE!" Amazing =]

  • I saw Rise Against live in Cardiff. Thursday were the cover band and they played this song and Tim came on and everyone was like OMGAHD -faint.

    Was trully THE shit.

  • Ahh mate, I know! I saw them at Brixton and Tim ran on to do this song with Thursday I had a joygasm! I've seen Rise Against 3 times now and they just keep getting better. Best line up in my opinion would be Flobots, Thursday and Rise Against =P

  • yeah amenI accidentally thumbed down your comment haha

  • @himynameismayo yeah the same thing in germany ^^

  • I MET THE LEAD SINGER! I WAS AWESOME!!

  • thursdaycore. lol sure works for me. SOmeone tag them as that on last fm!!! lol

  • omg theyre Thursdaycore

    how bout that?

  • ok thursday is emo. a good emo band. emo done right. punk popish. post hardcore. btw is geoff the screamer for all the songs, like the raspy scream? and who screams for united nations?

  • @thekidbehindtherock Who cares, they're good, that's all that's matters =] x

  • That matters *

  • Watch "The Zen of Screaming" The Keyboardist is the screamer. I think the rhythm guitarist does at some times too.

  • haha its tuesday ^^

  • I was born on a Thursday

Maybe thats why I like them a lot.

  • tuesday again =D

  • yay today's thursday :)))))

  • tim mcllrath in this song?

  • Yes,if you listen carefully, you can hear him.

    Rise Against best band ever:)

  • less than thursday

  • cock face

  • @PeopleThatDie "BREATH IN! BREATH OUT!"

  • @PeopleThatDie "BREATH IN! BREATH OUT!" That part is Tim. SO good.

  • @PeopleThatDie rise against is not 10 pourcent as goos as thursday! thursday is more original, their song have more emotions, more intensity than any rise against's song.. just listen the structure of this song. there is one hundred rise against but only one thursday.

  • near the very end is where I can hear him

  • yey, today is thursday

  • damn, todays tuesday haha

  • YAY ITS THURSDAY! :)

  • Thursday is metal? WHAT THE FUCK?! I've been listening to Thursday for years and haven't heard one fucking hint of any metal whatsoever. What I did hear was the then growing combination of unbridled emotion in musical form combined with some elements of hardcore. If Thursday is anything, they're the best band to come out of New Jersey.

  • calling this metal is kind of a joke...and while thursday is awesome, as long as bruce springsteen continues to be from new jersey, they will never be the best band out of jersey.

  • I didn't even know Springsteen was from Jersey. Springsteen and Thursday it is then!

  • how could you not know hes from jersey half his songs are about jersey

  • Because not everyone is from New Jersey or a Bruce Springsteen fan.

  • but most people fans or not know hes from jersey

  • Oh ok.

  • ^ truth

  • wow! amazing, I love Thursday's new album, they are great, as always=)

    <3

  • Thursday being Thursday and that's it.

  • wtf?.. you dudes... go to your own channels and continue arguing there... this video is full of all of your stupid comments... i don't even know who's on "Thursday side"...

  • they are metal. not the best metal but metal none the worst. Its hardly a hardcore track. so just sssh no more hate mail. <3

  • i saw these guys at there seattle taste of chaos a few days ago

    and they were soo amazing

probably the best concert iv ever been to

and i was almost fired and had my hours cut at work to go

but it was all worth it =]

  • i saw them play this song live on taste of chaos this year fuckin amazing, common existence is just as good as full collapse or war all the time, i am glad trying something new because it is working out well and shows what they can really do musically

  • Comment removed

  • Oh yeah? Too bad nobody cares what you think. But is okay, you can listen to that garbage all you want to. While youre at it, maybe you should be the one who should stop writing music that sucks dick because no ones heard of your band anyway. Take a hint.

  • your right this band should stop doing what they call ``music``.I mean everyone could write those lyrics!

  • i just bought their their new album called common existence.

imo, i say that this album is full of emotions but lack in screaming. thursday is changing their musical styles a little bit but it's alright.

for me, full collapse is their best album then waiting then war all the time, common existence so on and so forth.

i really miss their screaming because it's unique and full of raw emotions in it.

  • their music is highly similar to their older stuff, how do you see their musical style changing?

  • Are you serious? re-listen to Full Collapse or even War all the time then listen to this. The direction it seems like they are going is, "lets put everything into our lyrics and not worry at all about the music. it doesnt matter." Now, what you have is a horribly produced UC Berkeley beginner-novice garage band. They used to USE their talent. Now they dont. And that is the pathetic direction their music is taking.

  • I agree i think this album is a failure to thursday. Still a good cd but thursday is amazing and this cd doesnt show any talent. Rickley doesnt have any melondy where it grabbed my attention and made me want to sing along. The guitars are weak, but the bass and drums are decent.

I love war all the time, full collpase and especially acbtld but this cd lacks everything that thursday was good at except lyrics.

Oh well glad to know im not the only one who thinks this album could've been better

  • They're progressive, you can't expect something like the older CDs every time. A City was a big step and this is just another one, you have to have very broad tastes to like it. I'm sure a lot of the people who liked their first two are very very disappointed.

  • <3 common existence

great songs on it. this is one of it

  • keep rockin' guys...

glad to see all of you back...

    you haven't missed a step!

    best heard live!!

  • I love the kick in the face this song gives you similar to For the Workforce Drowning. Which happens to be my other favorite Thursday song next to this one.. This is just flat out amazing.

  • am i the only one who doesnt like the new album?

  • NO! HELL NO you arent. I dont like it one bit. I hope on the next album they actually USE their sound studio and mixing board.

  • no, alot of people dont like it.

i think its ok but i still prefer the old stuff.

  • Oh? you call them a scene kid band and yet you accuse me of being "mr. know it all?" You can dog them all you want to but at least people have still heard of their band, unlike you. Besides, your band cant do what they do, so it sounds to me like youre just pissy because you suck. Haha, loser.

  • they are a scene kid band.

you are probably a scene kid.

    bring me the horizon sucks.

and they have probably the worst breakdowns ive ever heard.

    really boring.

    sorry.

  • Nice try but im no scene kid. Ive never worn tight pants and i dont straighten my hair. Scene or not is irrelevant because theyre still metal, and your band sucks their dick as far as anyone's concerned.

  • they are not metal.

they are a cheap excuse for metal.

    try a band with talent.

like between the buried and me.

if your going to listen to anything, not bring me the horizon, go google the lyrics to their songs.

it should provide a couple of laughs.

they are horrible and their style is incredibly boring.

and i really dont care what you say about my band, i havnt done that band for two years now.

even though, i dont really give a shit, i have yet to see you write anything.

  • Again, you claim me to be "mr know it all", and again you continue to harp on your opinion of the band. You are a hypocrite. And i have all the lyrics to all of their songs on my ipod. They really arent the best, but his vocals or should i say "talent" that you sure as shit dont have, makes up for that. They are metal, everyone and their mother can listen to it and classify that as some form of metal, irregardless whether they favor it or not.

  • they are not metal.

they are a sorry excuse for such.

the only reason people like them is for his vocals.

    because they are "br00tal."

haha, its people like you with a shallow taste in music that make me laugh.

  • Wow you really are an idiot. I have a shallow tast in music and you listen to who? Thursday? Yeah im certain youre only saying bmth sucks because i said your band sucks and you got pissy. They are metal. Youd have to be a dumbass not to figure something like that out, but i forget that im talking to one.

  • ok end of argument. they're NOT metal unless you truly want to label them as such. its good music either way

  • What are you saying? Thursday's not metal or Bmth is not metal?

  • thursday aint metal. bmth aint straight up metal, but they're in there somewhere

  • bmth is shit.... they dont deserve to be in any genre....

    But theyre classed as metalcore/deathcore

  • They're metalcore, NOT deathcore.

  • @ kingoffoerever

neither of them are tue meatal there sub-generes which there are far too many fucking off lol

  • Bleh... Knew there was a reason that I never listened to these guys. Fuck Revolver Magazine for giving me false hope that they would be good.

  • ha ha i am readin revolver and looked this song up too and feel the same

  • Dude, this bands earlier work is on point (see: Full Collapse and War all the Time). This new sound of theirs makes me want to vomit. Revolver magazines article is just a few years too late.

  • i would way so far track 2 is my fav for now

  • This song's fucking incredible, Can't wait for Common Existence =]

  • lol i just noticed it said: with a single word, live,Live ,LIVE!!!i thought it said welcome back

  • i like the lyrics and guitar in this song so much. it like fits perfectly.and the over lapping chorus makes it perfect :P

  • This is the first thursday song i ever heard, after reading a good review of them in kerrang yesterday. I have to say, this is some of the best music ive heard in a rather long time. Where was I???

  • check out thursdays first albums they are MUCH better than their last 2 ones I dont really like their new stuff but their old stuff is just amazing if you just now found thursday find their old stuff and ENJOY.

  • I've seen the music video already, but when will it be up on YouTube?

  • best post-hardcore song of 09 period thanks to its absolute perfected distilation of aggression and emotional romanticism. Imagine late at-the-drive-in meets too bad you're beautiful era FATA and you're half way there. shame nothing else on the album comes close

  • Glad to here/see Thursday hasn't changed their style of music, I'm glad I saw this I had no idea they were coming out with a new CD. Haven't been good at keeping up with my favorite artists.

  • this song has tim from rise against!!!!! i cant wait 4 the cd

  • this song kicks ass, i cant wait for the CD to come out.

  • i dont like this song that much, but there is another song off their new album called "friends in the armed forces" its amazing. listen to it

  • boo u whore

  • ha im sorry. did i offend you? this song can suck my click. every other song on this cd is amazing

  • i think this song is awesome. it sounds like some of the old stuff but it also has some of the same qualities as "A city by the light divided". its just as heavy as "at this velocity". and the keyboards sound great.

  • i listened to there new album its pretty good the songs 'Last Call' and 'Friends In The Armed Forces' are really good

  • i'm kinda scared. this sounds like the old style of thursday but i dont like it as much. i hope their album is good

  • ok .but a few songs are pretty good.but idk .its idk weird :/

  • full collapse and war all the time are definetly their best albums.the new one aint that good :/

  • you have to let it grow on you... that is if we're talking about a city by the light divided.

at first i only like autumn leaves revisited but later on I started to like the whole CD.

  • this song could definatley use some more tim mcllrath in it

  • DAMN RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Definitely!! Tim is the best :)

  • I wonder if I'm the only one who feels like their music and their vocals are COMPLETELY disjointed in all of their new stuff.

It feels like they just took the two separately and just slapped them together.

  • the album has leaked.

I dunno, not sure what to think about it. this song is nice, and Dark Mountain is too. the album only seems to have two dynamic options though, which is either really harsh and screaming or lighter (but still with screaming) songs that include string sections. the production is terrible because it's the same guy who did ACBTLD. I'm sure I'll get like, -6 for this, but it;s just my initial opinion.

  • I love the screaming in this song

    "just one more day!" etc.

plus it's going to awesome at shows when all the kids yell "can you feel a pulse" and other screams like "with a thousand voices," etc

Can't wait for this album! Seeing this band live in Ottawa was one of the best nights of my life

  • this song is so good, and the fact the greatest singer Tim McIlrath, from the greatest bad, Rise Against is featured makes this the best Thursday song ever.

  • it's weird that several bands with albums this year will have their 2009 release be their 5th. The Mars Volta, Thursday, and Mew. maybe Coheed's 5th will come out this year too, but unlikely as no news has come out.

  • Thursday are fuckin awesome! From Waiting to Kill the House Lights, im sure the new album will be amazin if it's anything like this song! Thursday have grown and matured and are still creating life changing music! If you havn't seen them live yet make sure you look at some live vids! Geoff is the man. x

  • best band period

  • this album is not good for me.. im sud

but i hope someday thursday will be the most famous band back in 2001.

thursday is all ways in my heart.. and i will keep untill i die.

  • Thursday's album "Waiting" is classic Thursday to me. I love all their songs from every album but Waiting does have an extra kick about it.

A cool thing about Thursday (as most quality artists) you can hear how Thursday has developed from Waiting to Common Existence. Whether you like all Thursday songs or not, they are showing their next level of growth and it sounds awesome to me!

If you like at least one song by Thursday you must see them live! They are amazing!

  • i love Thursday no matter what but their new albums like this one and split with envy arent as good as thier older stuff the last albumthe last one i bought was a city by the light which was extraordinary for them to try a new style and make it work great i just think they ruse their albums and not have thursday's genuine style in it

  • I do believe A City By The Light Divided was their best album, although War All the Time was amazing. Geoff is fantastic, and if I ever saw them live, chances are I would cry. They are incredible, and if this is the direction they think they would like to head in, us as fans can only support them, and hope for the best.

That said, I do think this song is very different to say Full Collapse and Waiting, but is still pretty good. I can't wait for the new album.

  • old school songs from thursday are better cuz they have the best scream and geoff stated that after a city by the light divided were not gonna do anymore screamy shit. that sucks

  • I do believe War all the Time was their best album, but I don't believe this is bad. It still represents what Thursday is, shows Geoff's (and the band's) emotions. And Geoff will always be amazing live, that's never going away.

  • there is alot of screaming in this song....hmmm do you know what ur talking about?

  • why did thursday have to get so bad?

  • the new thursday songs just dont do it for me..... the album i thought they were in their great syle was a city by the light.. the new albums arent as inspiring they seem just agressive and not well done

  • a city by the light is considered new thursday, buddy.

this song is really disappointing. as much as i love tim mcilrath, there really is just nothing good about this song.

  • I think it gets excellent at 3/4 of the way in..

  • It definately gets better...I'll agree that the 3/4 mark is the best point of the song.

Having given the song a little more time, I might have been a little harsh at first, but I'm still dissapointed that Tim and Geoff couldn't put together something a little...better, you know?

  • that picture is really creepy.

    but i love thursday,

and their music just keeps getting better :D

can't wait til Common Existence drops!

  • they were pretty awesome at the RA concert!

  • Yeah, that's Tim. Check out the Killing Tree if you like it.

    fuck yeah.

  • hey, it was nice of thursday to play a song around tim

  • I think this song kicks ass and everything, but it seems as though Thursday is going for too much of a "clean" sound where the screams are pretty instead of brutal. Thursday has a "party" atmosphere for some reason. I'll have to wait until i actually here Common Existence. I can't wait to reserve a copy.

  • wow they just dont get worse no matter how much you listen to them looking forward to the new albums release i might even by the hard copy

  • I saw the bulletin on myspace and i had to check it out its preety intense the song!!!

  • i saw the bulliten on myspace from Tim and i had to check it out. just listened to this whole song, and its pretty sweet. ima DL this stuff now :D

  • wow thursday and RA.. my brain just exploded i love both of them :]

  • Yea, yeap. It's Tim. :) RA made a bulletin on myspace talkin about it xD

  • bueniiiiiiiiiiiisima rola

  • Who is screaming "breathe in, breathe out!"? That doesn't sound like Geoff or Andrew.

It actually sounds like the singer of Rise Against a little bit(?)

Anyone know if that is a guest appearance?

  • It is Tim McIlrath of Rise Against. :)

  • That is the singer from rise against
