Would have been the play of the game and the year if Tech converted on the last drive. This play was huge for us, but we couldn't move the chains on those last ten yards. The first downs prior to those last 4 downs were amazing. Swindall had the hot hands all night, just dropped the last pass of the night. Britton should have caught that deep strike but Potts over threw it. It was the same exact play we ran in Lawrence against KU, but Harrell got it to Britton's hands. Was a great game to watch!

Player of the game is the TE who tripped up the fumble recoverer. He would've had a convoy of LB's and DE's all the way to the endzone if not for the shoe-string tackle. It's not helmet to helmet when the ball carrier lowers his head to try to run someone over.

That is true in most cases but not always. Just because it's a helmet to helmet hit wouldn't exactly mean that there would be stretchers out on the field. If you look, both Zac Robinson and Jamar Wall go limp after the hit, most of the time this is caused by a loss of consciousness which can either result in more head injury (from you not stopped your head from slamming in the ground) or you not being injured as badly.

Defenders are supposed, according to rule book, to hit with shoulder pads, with head on either side of offensive player. Any tackle that involves helmet hitting offensive player first is supposed to be a penalty. Using helmets is how defenders these days go for highlight/kill shots.

Helmet to helmet is usually NEVER ever called againgst someone hitting a runningback or in this case the ball carrier. The ball carrier is not defensiveless obviously and furthermore the ball carrier lowers his head trying to truck someone obviously not defenseless. You can still hit a ball carrier facemask to facemask if you want.
