We have dragonflies about that size where I live. When they buzz around, their size scares the crap out of me! But the small, blue ones that I see in the grass, man, they are gentle and sweet!

theres a pond next to me and there are lots of dragon flys,i saw a dragonfly intercept a wasp.the wasp was flying but before it could set down,a dragonfly like tackled it in midair :D it was soooo awsome
