  • @cisdac how wrong you are little man xx

  • Sorry to see Robert Downey pay for physical scientology. The guy is just milking him for easy money. Robert is swallowing the Ying and getting the Yang in the arse.

  • @ephedradiet Say what you want, but he credits it with helping him get his life together and his career back on track.

  • Arts are better suited for the streets!

  • Jkd being the most deadliest art? No its not. It's the person not the art. Ima Hung Ga kung fu practitioner and there are a lot of deadly strikes in my art. I've fought in the ring. You just have to learn how to utilize your art. As far as mma is not a style. It's mixed arts. Yes it would work in the streets but if your fighting multiple people do you think going to the ground is smart? Hell no you'll get stomped by the other guys. So I believe knowing ground fighting is useful but traditional

  • mma means mixed martial arts, which can include any and all traditional arts, including wing chun..the evolution of fighting is ongoing

  • Personally I would not like to take a fight to the ground myself, since those takedowns look kinda risky for the street. But if the other takes me down, it's good to know some ground game. Being a great fan of wing chun, I do think mma is a better style for fighting. It is mixed together from different fighting styles. I also see wc moves and principles used in mma fights. mma has the advantage of science and is modern, and we know that everything improves over time, so also martial arts. Peace.

  • I've done wing chun for plenty years, but I heard from a guy that fought a lot in his life that indeed 90% of streetfights go to the ground. So some wrestling experience would not be bad. Also wing chun has limitations, like no hooks and very difficult defence moves. What it does teach is to always attack, also dangerous hits (eyes, throat) and kicks to the knee, groin and hip area. It also makes you fast. It also says: anything goes that works, so wc already says to mix it up, itself. continues

  • Haha, this is going to be one of those arguments. Let's not draw before the last chime an walk away. Lol, but good luck with you're training (genuinely meant, no sarcasm).

  • @wolfengreg Yep, one of those arguments that has already ended with a proven result. Gracie challenge along with many other mma fighters that requested a no-rule fight to anyone from any art to come forth, such as ninjas, sifus, pankration fighters, etc to fight with a reward of $100,000 for victory and yet, all those that attempted failed. So much for the "sport" excuse. MMA has been proven effective in the streets as the most dangerous style that cannot be fucked with.

  • @EdDy4RheelZ wrong bro first lets take what your own god has said about mma DANA WHITE ill give you a minute to sacrifice a nate diaz poster ok ready dana white even says bruce lee is the godfather of mma and what is are main art in jeet kune do which is the most deadly art not me saying it but wiki, ask, blackbelt magazine in fact mma isnt even listed in the top 10 martial arts systems you see facts are facts use jeet kune do stylist have been doing cross training way before any ufc watch wwwf

  • Mma is competition fighting, no more effective on the street than kickboxing. It's strength lies in the ring, following rules and regulations, wing chun and aikido are geared around street use, no rules the regulations, you limit both there potentials the minute you stick gloves on them an stick them in a ring. So therefore you're not seeing there use. An their are guys who use both in mma, so that's a moot point to say otherwise.

  • @wolfengreg Wrong. MMA gloves are nearly as same as wearing nothing. You're allowed to use your fingers as well as not having enough pads unlike boxing gloves. Arts that cannot be proven in the ring make excuses for their failure to prove their effectiveness.

Street fights just have more dangerous environment, such as no rules, no referees, no limited space, it doesn't validate WC's effectiveness. Real question is, which art would be more conditioned?

  • @wolfengreg MMA has been proven effective in the streets. You can search up and find countless number of MMA fighters fighting in the streets. Wing Chun cannot provide any empirical evidence nor anecdotal evidence. There are many flaws within wing chun and aikido systems that are unrealistic and do not work in real life. Idiots like Steven Seagal, who's 7th dan aikido black belt, would get squashed by any MMA fighters in the streets.

  • @EdDy4RheelZ well considering i do jeet kune do and been the head bouncer at pieres here in fort wayne indiana the 6th biggest nightclub in the united states and i use it daily meaning also wing chun then i would bag to differ mma is only good for the cage which isnt real fighting try to come to my club with your mma and then do you gracie jitz which mma guys only do abour \5 percent of the art and ill be paying for your medical bills while his buddies or kicking your head and teeth and doin mma

  • Hello every wing chun practitioners. I can see that Robert is not doing a real wing chun

good for promoting the wing chun. people please get a real sifu

  • mma? Really? Well it may disappoint you to know I've seen wing chun fighter, sanda fighter and an aikido fighter all beat different mma lads. Mma is nothing special, its just the bastard love child of other systems and liberally coated in 'can't be arsed learning a full system' flavouring.

  • @wolfengreg On the money with this one!

  • @wolfengreg Is there any proof? Without any empirical evidence, your statement is invalid. Give us Empirical evidence, not anecdotal evidence. Sanda and Shuai Jiao are the only two styles of Kung Fu that's been proven effective in MMA. Wing Chun and Aikido has and never will prove anything because it is ineffective and does not work against experienced fighters.

  • MMA is the testing ring for all martial arts to come together and prove themselves. If an art cannot be proven in MMA or any other full-contact competitions, then it simply means it's ineffective and does not work. MMA welcomes all WC fighters and any other fighters to prove themselves.

  • @wolfengreg I bet you 1 billion dollars. I can prove you're a naive non-fighting black belt dipshit; who only trains and never fights.Shut that hole in you face, before someone calls you out for a real fight.

  • I've practiced Wing Chun for 6 yr. I can tell you that I have used it effectively 3 times in self defence situations against people bigger than me. BUT, every time I spar with boxers or kickboxers I am not nearly as effective. In self defense situations the attackers aren't thinking of you hitting back, they are mad and just want to hurt you. This lack of defensive posturing allows you to counter much easier. So I can say that wing chun has been very effective, for me, in these situation

  • i like to think that wing chun is more of a base to start off, as it is more scientific then physical. using wing chun as a base to learn other martial arts more quickly and effectively is what its used for imo. you guys shouldn't be "boxed in" by a specific style and try to learn many different ones to be more effective in a real fight, because most styles focus on one part or idea of a fight and not the whole thing.

  • wing chun!!!

  • sherlock that nice butt of his is alot easier to see

  • I like Robert Downey Jr. but I hate Wing Chun. Wing Chun sucks balls. One of most ineffective martial arts in the world along with ninjitsu and rest of kung fu styles(except sanda and shuai jiao). But respect to Robert Downey Jr. for staying off the streets and finding an activity he feels comfortable with.

  • @EdDy4RheelZ thats ignorant to say one style if better or worse then the other its the fighter that makes the style to be honest u just sound dumb

  • @RjEatsDogs Wrong kiddo. It's been proven that Wing Chun is ineffective against experienced fighters. You don't see Wing Chun practitioners in MMA and the ones who attempted to join MMA with it have all miserably failed and got owned. WC never practices full contact and fantasize ridiculous defense techniques where u can take your opponent down without taking a single hit when in reality, you will get hit. Your body is never conditioned due to your reliance on those ridiculous moves.

  • @EdDy4RheelZ /watch?v=-UeSt42EjaQ , /watch?v=M8ql20FDOp0 , /watch?v=lVDL71owRdQ , /watch?v=6QP1r5W6Qm8&feature=related , /watch?v=mXH662jLo18 , /watch?v=I__SA_kDWz8 , /watch?v=3nrW5GDu2fs , /watch?v=dXyswAT9xMA ... ps if it looks like MMA then the guy is a Wing Chun based fighter with other arts added to compliment their Chun, Oh heres some of that "innefective" training /watch?v=HCBmnbyjLvM , /watch?v=HlrOD738aeg&feature=related , /watch?v=Vd-E0p7X_-w , /watch?v=N-TQHVy-GkQ

  • @smokinthepot All those chi sau, chain punching, and mindset of centerline theory is useless. Guess what? In real life, you're always not gonna be in contact with your opponent. He's not gonna stay in contact with you. Your sticky hand exercise is not gonna make u any better. By the time you're that close to your opponent, you'll get elbowed, kneed, or get grappled to the ground and get into the ground game.

  • @smokinthepot Try having your sifu chain punching against professional MMA or K-1 fighters and see what happens. Chain punching do not generate enough strength when you're in a ring or sparring environment. Your opponent is not gonna stand still for you to generate enough power shown in 1-inch-punch. He'll be weaving, bobbing, moving around, etc.

  • @smokinthepot Centerline is a narrow mindset of fighting style that will not make you any better. There are situations where you must throw hooks, uppercuts, and bolo punches. To WC idiots, any of those that are mentioned are considered "haymaker" and are not tolerated regardless of how effective and powerful they are if executive properly with strong form, precision and strength.

  • @smokinthepot But anyways, enough with the discussion. Show me videos of WC fighters winning against PROFESSIONAL MMA, K-1, or any full-contact fighters. Otherwise, showing me bunch of WC exercise videos and training is useless.

  • @smokinthepot OMFG! Were is MadDogBigMac? on this thread? Shhh better whisper, he might hear us and come looking for troll goodies! @EdDy4RheelZ I'll say this here dude, your the only 1 that seems 2 have valid creds in the anti WC crowd cause u say your training now, not 20 years ago and u have well thought info! Those other fools just don't have much depth 2 there argument. Plus is that u in some of the B Boy clips on your channel? That shit is mad difficult, props 2 u guys who rage that shit!

  • @CFgroup1 Here's a simple question. If you have $100/month to spend, which art would u take? Kickboxing-type or Wing Chun? You better believe it or not, over 90% of the people will prefer spending their money training kickboxing instead of WC. For one, your body gets way toughened up, and two, you master several techniques enough to become your second nature while protecting your facial area and your groin and learning to take hits in other parts of your body.

  • @CFgroup1 Time is short and limited. Fastest way to learn to fight is either kickboxing-type or wrestling-type. Although I have paid my consequences for my childishness of fighting in the streets and school, I did learn that fancy bullshit arts like WC have no place in real fights. Many of WC techniques I have seen on youtube, such as vertical punching, centerline theory, trapping, do NOT work against experienced fighters or big/tall/buff fighters with ridiculous long reach.

  • @RjEatsDogs Not only MMA but also in K-1 or any full-contact competitions. Only Kung Fu styles that I acknowledge as effective and deadly arts that's been proven are Sanda(Sanshou, aka Chinese kickboxing) and Shuai Jiao(Chinese folk wrestling). I speak with facts. You on the other hand sound dumb who's been brainwashed by hong kong films and lies spreaded through false rumors for ages by wing chun and kung fu sifus.

  • @EdDy4RheelZ i dont think you can say im brainwashed if you refuse to believe any traditional striking style is effective when you have no experience in traditional styles im not saying i do but If you watch "Wing Chun - Sparring Footwork Drill (part 2)" on youtube you will see how wing chun can be implimented in a ring situation.BTW when he closes the gap he throws the person, to avoid injury vs a punch to the face. If you do not watch the video it proves you are close minded.

  • @RjEatsDogs If Wing Chun was so effective to other fighting sports, then there would've definitely be someone from Wing Chun who would've won championship belts in Boxing. Not a single Chinese person or any WC practitioners won any type of competitions in Boxing, full-contact competitions, and mma. Why? Because it's not effective.

  • @RjEatsDogs And why are you using videos of WC against some inexperienced boxing moron or WC idiot pretending to be a boxer as your way of showing the effectiveness of Wing Chun? It doesn't really prove anything. Your reasoning abilities and empirical evidence need to be sharper. Until then, you will not find yourself open minded. Try that shit against any of experienced boxers like Muhammad Ali, Mike Tyson, Floyd Mayweather, Manny Pacquiao, Vladimir Klitschko and see what happens.

  • @EdDy4RheelZ the boxer has over 10 years experience but thats not the point it was simply a demonstration of closing the gap and showing how wing chun can be effective, i dont see how you can call me close minded when i believe all fighting styles are effective. im simply trying to show the possible effectiveness of each art. Since you refuse to see it then thats your opinion. Btw what fighting experience do u have? How bout u understand fighting b4 u wing chun b4 u criticize it.

  • @RjEatsDogs I've trained in Muay Thai for 5 years on and off, almost 3 years if i add up all the months of training. But regardless, even if I weren't trained in martial arts, it doesn't take a rocket science to figure out the ineffectiveness of WC. For example, I'm not a cook. I don't know how to cook delicate, good food. But I can still tell the difference between a good steak and a bad steak, or good sushi and bad sushi. Do I have to be a professional cook to know them?

  • @EdDy So you competed in K1? or were the K1 talent scouts eyeing you up during your 3 years spent living in the gym? To compete in K1 you train to compete in K1 at a K1 level to street fight you train to street fight. A good K1 fighter would stay far away from street fights anyhow they have a reputation to protect and it doesnt look good if your a hot headed slave of the fist when your getting sponcered. You are dreaming if you beleive 3 years is all it takes to be a great fighter at any club...

  • @smokinthepot K-1 invites any experienced fighter from any discipline as long as they're willing to fight full contact. Fighters come from kickboxing, savate, muay thai, sanda, kyokushin, etc. It's a competition where they bring out all fighters to test out their skills. I've never fought or got scouted by K-1 but I do know what the real deal is when it gets to fighting. And only fighting styles that work are those that resemble kickboxing-type and wrestling-type.

  • @RjEatsDogs MMA and K-1 are the real deal where they put every martial arts to the test. Whatever works there works. Whatever doesn't, doesn't. It's the testing ring. NO WC practitioners or even anyone who even slightly cross-trained WC ever won in professional mma, k1, full-contact competitions. Why? Because it's crap. But I like Robert Downey Jr. and I respect his purpose of taking WC, which is to stay off the streets and stop using drugs.

  • @EdDy4RheelZ i think the gracie brothers said that wc is a very useful supplement to MMA training, so thats false. But thats not the point, i dont think wing chun can be easily applied in the ring because many of its vital strikes are used to end the fight whether it be to the eyes throat, ect. But i was simply showing you how it could be applied in the ring, i dont see how wing chun can be ineffective, btw thats a shitty metaphor.

  • @RjEatsDogs I'm not only hating on Wing Chun. I hate on any art that looks fancy but yet, not effective in general while claiming to be the a lethal art superior to mma fighters or anyone whose background is either kickboxing-type or wrestling-type arts/sports and rip the shit out of your wallet, such as Wing Chun, Ninjitsu, Aikido, and Krav Maga.

  • @EdDy4RheelZ Yeah, I dont think they actually get...why it is we hate Wing Chun ...because theres quite a few martial arts that arnt as effective as others just like Wing Chun but ,ONLY Wing Chun tells us thats its too deadly to ever fight any 1, only Wing Chun goes on about how good it is but cant show us any good fighters winning a fight,If im wrong, then show me/tell me another style commenting how deadly it is & how its too deadly to fight MMA...show me another style saying that.WC = deluded

  • @1fitkbox It's not only WC. It's also arts like Ninjitsu, Aikido, and Krav Maga. Dumb arts that cannot be proven in the ring or against experienced fighters but yet, overrated and bragged as deadly arts too lethal for the ring, which is utterly bullshit. There are arts that don't work in a ring or against experienced fighters but I still respect, such as Capoeira, Taekkyeon, Kalari, Lucha Libre, etc. They're practiced more for cultural purposes and never advertised as deadly arts.

  • @EdDy4RheelZ yeah, couldnt agree more, I think the difference with WC tho is that WC talks more than any other style by far...every style would get flattened against a good pro mma fighter...but most arnt deluded enough to think they would beat them...WC seems to think that tho lol.

  • Comment removed

  • @1fitkbox jeet kune do is the deadlist your own god dana white says it that bruce lee is the godfather of mma and the number one art his core art in jkd is wing chun my friend thats why mma guys cant talk about martial arts cause you guys never study the spiritual or the history nor even a whole art system just boxing which is no martial art 2 percent of thai, 5 percent of jitz and call it mma us jkd guys were the first mmaers doing but in 1967 while you guys were wwf fans trained ufc fans lol

  • @EdDy4RheelZ dont the elite special forces of israel practice krav maga? i think id trust their judgement

  • @anessone Who gives a fuck what special forces of Israel practice just to use it on Palestinian civilians with no martial background. Put them in a ring or on the streets against any experienced kickboxers or wrestlers and see what happens. They'll get owned. On top of that, Israelis fight against people who throw rocks at the tank because they have no weapons to overcome the military technology of Israel.

  • @EdDy4RheelZ well i hear the our own special forces train with them too. but hey the seals are a bunch of pussies arent they

  • Tell this to Randy Couture, Brian Stann and see what happens. We'll see who the pussies are. =) Randy and Brian would fuck up any of Krav Maga idiots in 1 on 1 fight.

  • @EdDy4RheelZ I talked once with Moni , head of Commando krav maga for an hour, he was telling in Canada, he used to train St Pier...Moni was a Judo olympian medalist, I doubt even he would be as deluded to think that by using Krav Maga, hed beat a UFC champ

  • @1fitkbox Of all the arts I listed that I hate, I however, give Krav Maga somewhat of a respect because it's a quickly way to learn how to defend urself against common street life situations where it doesn't teach any ridiculous bullshit, such as centerline theory, chi sao, chain punching, etc. It's prolly the best defendo art. But it does annoy me that Krav Maga is extremely overrated and people think krav maga practitioners can take out a mma fighter in the streets.

  • @EdDy4RheelZ mma, or any art that's heavily adopted by mma, such as muay thai, bjj, kickboxing, wrestling, etc.

  • @EdDy4RheelZ Yeah...it seems as soon as any martial art thinks because they can do throat, eye & groin strikes...that they will then stop Alister Overeem in his tracks...Krav Maga im sure as its merits against weapons & some no nonsense basic self defence moves but against a decent pro mma fighter, it would get flattened just like other martial arts.

  • @EdDy4RheelZ thats because us jkd guys and krav guys can take out mma guys very easily and jeet kune do is consider the best martial arts system do your research

  • @RjEatsDogs Just ran into this guy this morning,"Ben Saunders" Google him, his foundation is JKD which 2 me is part of the evolution of KF/WC. Ben has the conditioning foundation of the Chinese MA, with the technique of modern sport fighting. Check out his super smooth ground fighting in this fight "Ben Saunders vs Luis Santos"
