thats sick. he is overweight and DUH cause he's trapped and being fed by some glass so people can see the animal 'attacking' something... ugh this is tragic
Beautiful animal, for awesome pictures and all the info you need on jaguars, google search, scienceray jaguars, please comment and let me know what you think, thank you
I that this was an awesome video until you zoomed out and I saw that such a beautiful breath taking creature had to be trapped behind glass in a small room.
is that meat or fish he is eating?...regardless, he would probably not survive if released into wildlife....he would think meat/fish grows on trees and go about looking for it until he dies of hunger:)
@toastmastah I agree. It's sad that the animals are caged but zoos are beneficial as well. Also, some zoos don't actually take animals from the wild but instead from other zoos that have a surplus or from people that think such animals would make good pets. Or at least, that's the case with the zoo in my own town. Hopefully one day there won't be a need for zoos, but until then they at least do some things that are favourable for the animals.
@toastmastah but, if if this jaguar escape from the zoo and live normal at its home, i think there are so many hunter will hunt it... its dangerous...
@toastmastah You people are idiots, being in captivity is a much better life than struggling in the wild with habitat loss, hunger, poachers and all that kind of crap. If I was an animal and I had a choice, I'd choose zoo.
@1cupcakequeen1 its true. a jaguar would crush the hell out of a house cat if they had sex. and youre contradicting yourself, "if i was [I] would not know how to spell" its lying, by the way. and a jaguar would probably be bigger than you, so you would realize if your cat was a jaguar
@BerkerIzmir001 There have been cases of pet jaguars, but it's just as dangerous as having a pet tiger or lion. If it was me, I'd never go near one in my life, but whatever floats your boat~
Hi Ze88N, Humans have so much to learn from nature, especially about toleration, balance & natural resources. Don't worry about any challenge, I am always happy to discuss Jaguar's because they don't get the same public exposure as the usual big cats. So any & all discussion that can highlight how special Jaguar's are can only be good for them (I Hope!). Best regards, Jon DZ.
Hi Ze88N, There is a lot of documentary information on Jaguar's. Their diet consists of many things from small crocodiles, fish, birds, foxes, dogs & turtles. They don't kill like other big cat's either, Jaguar's bite through the skull to pierce the brain or body in the case of a turtle. This is why they have incredible jaw strength, it's not about it's physical weight, an ant can lift many times it's own weight for example. A Siberian Tiger eats Deer & Wild Boar, & kill's at the throat.
@alexjones67 some animals are 'being extinct'? more than 99% of animals species that have ever existed are extinct. there 'are drugs and alcohol'? Elephants get drunk and then attack eachother all the time. 'people killing eachother for no reason'? There are spiders in South Africa and Australasia that will attack humans and great apes for the hell of it. I suppose the world would be a better place if we all circled up and jerked off?
this thing would eat you so fast.... while all of you would call it cute if you encountered one in the wild... it would be choosing which of the hundred ways it wants to kill you.
@decmasta Its not a bloodthirst animal! It's their innstinct to protect their young, they territory, or maybe you're cruel poacher and they just want to protect themselves. Show some compation. It's people like you that annoy the hell out of me
@Berrypool001 Tell me then, what does it eat? Blueberries? The Huaorani people of the amazon sure do fear this cat as packs of them often attempt to come to their village at night when they are hungry. They eat meat (sorry to say cats dont have a morality!). Regardless, I woud NEVER advocate poaching this animal. Even though it is vicious, we must understand the beauty of this viciousness in the preservation of the natural world. It is your misconception of cuteness that puts them in zoos
I rank the Jaguar as the #2 most beautiful big cat out there (even though the jaguar is my favorite big cat) the beauty and elegance goes to the black panther
@Bo0skiesz Diverse genetics can be added from zoos whose breeding can be controlled, healthy genes can be reintroduced into the wild & it keeps the animals there in supreme condition. Now habitat & the choice of mates are limited the wild animals are compromised. Species going extinct are small in number & have few mates to choose from, soon they are mating with aunts, uncles, cousins, brothers and sisters. The health of the animals are destroyed, this beautiful animal will die out..

To become a zookeeper I think you should have to spend at least 1 year in prison per 3 years of employment. If you are going to hold something captive against its will, you should know what it feels like. Prison guards and jail deputies should also have the same requirement.
@sonicblew Zoos are often the last hope of animals that are being wiped out. If it weren't for hard-working zoo-keepers and breeding programmes, many of these animals would already be extinct. If you want to pin blame on someone, pin it on those that deserve it, such as poachers, trophy and "big game" hunters. They're the real villains here.
In capativity it this one is safe from human predators, & the destruction of it's natural habitat. It's guaranteed to find food & maybe even breed. The video demonstrates that the Jaguar is the most capable of all the big cats, because it is at home in the trees, on land & in water. The Jaguar also has the most powerful jaw/bite of all the cats!
Zoos provide an important gene pool and safe environment for many remaining extremely endangered animals. They are no longer "horrible prisons" that remove the value of life from animals. As you can see this enclosure is provides as natural as possible habitat and it's clear that the keepers have provided it with mental stimulation and exercise.
@FlipoutJo ..How is captivity saving them when they cant be realeased back into the wild because they have lost the instinct or dont have the capability to kill from being fed prepared meat. Yes. The species may not go extinct, but then it remains in captivity.
And yes thats also true, but it will never be there true home. I could kidnap you and throw you in a cage and feed you, give you proper healthcare and let you out sometimes, but it would never be your real proper home.
Good camera work. But the music draws too much attention to itself. Doesn't support the video very well by adding more tension than the video portrays. Music is also too urban for that shot.
Pound-for-pound the strongest of the cats. The best at climbing out of all the cats. The best at swimming out of all the cats. The hardest bite out of all the cats. The most beautiful, cunning and versatile.
All of them are different I thought they just looked different or lived in diferent places the Cheetah cant growl and is the smallest cat and is faster then any animal on land the leopard is a tree cat and suberb ambush predators both are hunted by lion lives in the open in a pack and cant survive long alone but Jaguars and Tigers are the same jaguars are mini tigers with more agility and speed then a tiger but both love water and trees weird and both are faster then a leopard and lion
