Actually just last year during Casey Anthony trial a couple was sentenced to prison. Don't remember for how many years, but it's been on the news. The family found their pet snake wrapped tight around their child. The child was already dead. He died by suffocation.

Uhm... People... I watched a show on this on animal planet... The snakes grow up with the kids, and they are trained to be used to that kind of handling by the children. It may be ignorant to you, but to them the snakes are just an every day house hold pet like a dog or a cat is to us. Before you start bashing on how other people bond and love their pets, maybe you should take the time to learn about it and understand why the snake doesn't seem bothered by the child handling it in such a way.

This is not an Anaconda but a Burmese Python. I've worked with these animals for a long time and yes they can be really gentle. BUT these are wild animals and can attack at any moment. There will be a day that this boy gets bitten. Might not be today, or tomorrow but someday. These animals only have their instincts, no recognision, no memory, no thought process. Just pure instinct, and once it feels trapped it will defend itself.

My cousin had a wild wolf that wandered into her yard years ago and just chose her for it's friend. they were best buddis, the wolf would lay with her, protect her, and go on walks with her off leash. this kept up until the day the wolf wandered off to die, just a few years ago.

I'm almost 100% certain that's a Burmese Python, not an Anaconda... And yes, this is perfectly feasible (though not recommended, it's like leaving your young kid alone with your three pit bulls of equal temperament) assuming it's a captive bred and born snake that has acclimated well to human contact. People handle these great creatures every day, why does this surprise you at all? Just search "captive anaconda" (or Burmese, Scrub, Rock, or Reticulated Pythons, all large snakes)
