I am Russian and my hubby is an American. Both of us enjoyed greatly watching this dance show on PBS. We really loved the dance and want see them alive next time when they come to US.

The choreography and costume design for this show are phenomenal! I saw this show live in NY and it was sold out and incredible. Such a celebration of joy, peace, culture and tradition of beautiful Poland! Also, to hear the songs of shepherds and see the dances from the mountains is an unforgettable experience.

All those colors. My carrots, cucumbers,tomatoes,cauliflower, lettuce,spinach...and so on and so forth. One of these days, an overhead stagehand is going to drip honey-mustard dressing over everyone and the audience will eat the whole troupe.

You're totally wrong. I never had a Polish girl friend. Polish women are bigger than I am. I've nothing against Polish culture either but have discovered that in Europe, Poland gets along with no one. I think Mazowsze is entertaining if one wants to see a vegetable garden dancing.
I agree with you, but you born in the USA, should like it, as you like Disney's world, am I wrong, plus all those folk clothes are rich and different for each region, so if they go in a trailer, one by one they look very colourful. In fact some of the clothes are prettier then they were once, because of the modern chemical paints. But you are right, it is a stylized version, the dancers are ballet dancers, and everything looks better than it was.xxx

I was in Disneyword and there's no comparison. That place is spectacular while Mazowsze is on just one stage with fruits and vegetables spinning around. Does Mazowsze have a Polish version of let's say the famous Disney characters? No way unless you want to say a spinning carrot is Mickey Mouski or Stanley Duckski.

We do have foreign doctors who are truly excellent but to the best of my knowledge,there are no excellent ones from Poland. By comparison some of the best are from India and England. The Polish doctors here work in Polish communities and are big into fraudulent herbs and magic potions. I know a Polish doctor who gave a man an elixir from Warsaw and the guy turned into a bar.

I am American too. Polish people are some of the most generous, peaceful and forgiving people in the world. I lived in that gorgeous country, and I know it from first hand experience. Try to see the beauty, simplicity and peace of Polish folk dancing -- just the costumes of this vibrant dance company and the radiant dancers (the best looking men and woman ever) are reason to love them! Each dancer looks like they belong on the cover of Vogue. and their voices! wow!

Regarding grammar, you don't know your ass from a hole in the wall.'Done away with" is called an IDIOM. Idioms in any language do not necessarily follow correct grammar structure. We do have foreign doctors who are truly excellent but to the best of my knowledge,there are no excellent ones from Poland. By comparison some of the best are from India and England. The Polish doctors here work in Polish communities and are big into fraudulent herbs and magic potions. I know a Polish doctor who gave a man an elixir from Warsaw and the guy turned into a bar.

I am American too. Polish people are some of the most generous, peaceful and forgiving people in the world. I lived in that gorgeous country, and I know it from first hand experience. Try to see the beauty, simplicity and peace of Polish folk dancing -- just the costumes of this vibrant dance company and the radiant dancers (the best looking men and woman ever) are reason to love them! Each dancer looks like they belong on the cover of Vogue. and their voices! wow!

Beauty's in the mind of the beholder.I can't dispute your interpretation and appreciation of MAZOWSZE however I have a right to express my opinion saying it looks like an ensemble of fruits, nuts and vegetables dancing around a maypole. This is NOT to disparage Poland in the least because I'm sure she has attributes that would please me but definitely dancing is not included. I like rock and roll, thank you.

By the way, the polka is not a Polish dance, it's Czech. It means "half-step". It's also very crude compared with genuine Polish folk dances like the mazurka and the polonaise - try listening to Chopin sometime. Although he would probably be over your head.

We also have,for example, in Chicago and Milwaukee,millions of Poles who'd rather frequent the 10,000 bars up there instead of sitting through performances of dancing vegetables and fruits. Also check the stats and you'll find tens of thousands of Poles trying to emigrate here to the States than Poles in the USA trying to get into Poland. What does that tell you, flying cucumber lover?
