A woman, a mother, whose son was killed in a war, a son who volunteered to serve in an army, spoke about the impact of her son's death, while serving in a volunteer army, and then other people, like Staceyann Chin and Marisa Tormei, "PERFORM" this speech for other people to watch and applaud? That's not about the death of a son. That's not about an injustice. That's not about George W. Bush. That's about grandstanding and selfishness. THAT'S messed up.

The most patriotic thing anyone can do is speak out for what they believe in. If we keep quiet than those who died defending our Constitution died in vain.

You make a lovely point, Cindy's son - serving in a volunteer army - paid a heavy price in an unjust war built upon lies and double talk. For the sake of the many I hope more people read and view this speech by the few and growing number who both internalize the feeling and externalize the pain. That price was his life, George W Bush never had to pay that price. His life is worthless as his presidential status is to the Republican party.

I could write a novel on all the 'other' people responsible but eventually I'd lose all desire to live. You see massive conspiratorial murmurings while they and those who speak them are dismissive categorically as 'lunacy' are a part of our society for a reason. They happen. For George W Bush to be worth... well he'd have to actually be intelligent enough to make rational decisions based on the evidence available. I don't pretend to be superman, but he does.

@Amanica In retrospect the invasion of Iraq, (which I was not 'for') caused several 'democratic revolutions in eastern europe, 'orange revolution, green revolution, rose revolution,' etc, as well as the current revolutions for democracy in Egypt, Tunisia, Libya, Syria, Yemen, Bharain etc.etc which may very well open the channels for free speech in many of these countries. As for us, it was given in our constitution after a long bloody war for that right to be given.
