We went to Ford's Theater and saw a play and set almost under[or as close as you can} of the Presidential box. It was sad and almost eerie to thank such a awful tragedy happened in that exact spot.

Firstly, Lincoln talked at length about Freeing slaves and was against slavery, although he was for segregation believing blacks and whites (where I suspect your convoluted idea comes from.)
The Idea of Repatrioting Blacks was done before Lincoln by President Monroe. Giving them free passage to return to Africa and present day, Libra (which's capital is Monrovia, the only foreign city named for a US President)

803Honda is absolutely correct. All that he said is a matter of historical fact. Go read the "Emancipation Proclaimation" for yourself. It only applied to States that were not under Union control. It is spelled out right there for you to read. And all the things stated relating Hilter and Lincoln are also facts. His only interest in Blacks was to use them as a means of warfare against the South.

He kept our union whole, and freed the slaves.
The evil South wanted to spread slavery to the west. Lincoln was ready to let them keep it in the South, but no, the evil ones wanted it out West also. What kind of people would do such a thing. I hope their souls and their ancestors will burn in hell forever.

Lincoln did not free the slaves because he thought slavery was wrong.. He freed the slaves to win the Civil War. The slaves that were freed were the slaves that were in states where Lincoln did not have any power but slaves in the North where Lincoln had power were not freed. Lincoln's views of blk ppl were aligned with the views of the Confederacy.

On the southern Economy: it was bound to fail! No economy can survive off of slave labor. Cotton's surplus was dropping prices and slave land was becoming more scarce. The lack of diversity meant that in the event of struggle the economy would fail.

Thats funny because Andrew Jackson rounded up 60,000 Native Americans and forced them out of their homes onto reservations on the trail of tears in which a quarter of them died. Jackson himself illegally entered Florida to kill Native Americans. And he caused an econ. panic that hurt the entire countries economy. I agree that suspending habeaus corpus was incorrect but Lincoln is not even close to being the worst president.
