I was a fan of fable until I played through II and had game crashing or game halting bugs lionhead never fixed. The "coop" was a joke, horrible, make a game where you pitch every decision you make shapes your character and play coop.. and none of that transfers over in appearance.. great. And they had the balls to release DLC they expected people to pay for. Making the other player pause while coop player looks in inventory.. lots of fun! LH = FAIL.

They're all stale, but Racing games seem more stale than others just because staring at a car's rear end for a while gets old faster than being in a gunfight with bombs and lightsabers and cover and a shit-ton of other stuff. RPGs aren't old, J-RPGs are. They have never evolved. Sure there are a few exceptions, but the real moneymaker, Final Fantasy has only ever made slight changes to the gameplay, and the only JRPG that isn't stale is the Tales series, and that's just because it's younger than Fantasy.
