  • Many thanks for this upload.

  • each neuron can turn its neighbor on or off, depending on the signal it sends... lol, just like the slut next door that you always stare at through the window =P

  • good

  • Thought this was going to be more educational...

  • me too :)

  • You're cool.

  • Are neurons really physically connected? I thought neurons fire off messages in neurotransmitters into the synaptic gap.

I don't know a lot about neuroscience, though, so maybe it isn't that simple.

  • You description is correct. Neighbor neurons are separated by a small gap or cleft, and communication across the gap is accomplished when one neuron releases a chemical called a neurotransmitter into the gap. The neurotransmitter diffuses across the gap and interacts with receptors on the second neuron. The receptors are channels that allow certain types of ions to pass through pores in their structure.

  • Voice in the video = epic.

  • @cassiopeiaproject This is idiotic. The problem with videos on the internet is that they are too similar to commercials on TV. Please make proper videos next time, not this dumbed down piece of trash.

  • No you're right. Not a single neuron physically connects with another at any point. Rather, a neuron's internal electrical charge at the pre-synaptic membrane causes the release of any number of the 50-55 known neurotransmiters (chemical messengers) which results in an inhibition or activation of sodium and potasium ions in the receiving cell's receptor sites, which leads to yet another electrical charge called an action potential, leading to the next release and so on.. good luck.
