  • never jumping there

  • Could have been totally avoided, by tracking five seconds parallel to each other. but if it wasn't for bad planning we would not have this F***** awesome video!... Great job going for the risers, rather than the toggles. Awesome reaction time!

  • Blue Skyes dude, not blue eyes! :))) Great that everything went well! :)

  • rough opening, that was...

  • Always go right!!!!!

  • oooooooo....im sure its been said before somewhere below.....so i wont repeat

i was on a 12 way FS jump recently where someone changed their mind of which direction they wanted to track in....and ended up infront of me... i had nowhere to go so i dropped below him and tracked on my back only a few degrees off of where he was going....had to wait till he pulled (a novice so pulled above 4k) while i kept tracking.... tracking saves lives....

  • Watching this, about 5 mistakes where made! From the looks of it the white and red canopy dude did not track at all, he did not attempt to turn and there looked like no communication.

Seems like your track was not long enough counted only 3 seconds from turning to opening. Did not see a wave off eather.

Also from what it looks like there was no plan made on the ground for break off and track. It just shows PPPPPPP.......

  • WTF bro? who was the guy you freefell past while opening in the blue canopy?!! what dz is THIS?!! You can see him fully deployed at 6 seconds...you are lucky all three of you are alive..

  • Mother that was close..

    many safe jumps and landings

    Blue skies

  • looks like pure chaos up there

  • "turn right!!!" glad you made it out! Blue Skies

  • I agree with everyone who spotted the blue canopy. There is definitely more issues here than the tracking from your student who with even 30 or 40 jumps should know how to track away from a formation. At least no one was hurt in what could have been a three canopy collision.

  • that was close!

  • I do not think that tracking is the issue here. You had twists, it happens to the best ...... But at 200 jumps the other guy should know how to open on a heading away from other jumpers and LOOK WHERE HE IS GOING instantly his canopy deploys.

    A very important lesson though.

  • slavnica... nice job... wath out. greetings!!!

  • Ouahou! Scary!

  • if that happened to me id have a panic attack lol.

  • Damn. Lucky bastards.

Whose was the blue canopy that you fell past (and looked to be below where you left your student...)?

Crap/no tracking and poor exit separation between groups. Scary stuff.

  • Good call - riser turn to the right. Hopefully everyone else knows to turn right also if you're coming head on like that. Nice save. Just as well you didn't have any extra twists there though lol

  • TRACK!

  • That whole situation could have been avoided by simply tracking...

  • this is not your vidio my youtube buddy has this one and says it is his

  • Then ask him for the full 60 min original tape of skydiving :D anyway I put this video here FOR SKYDIVERS TO LEARN FROM IT. If the video and the comments leaded to some knowledge for anyone, what with later a life-dangerous situation had been avoided or prevented than it worth. I absolutely don't care about if a thousand jerk says that it is their video if it saves only one life.

    BLUE SKIES!

  • @wkori if it does happen that you can not avoid a canopy collision ensure to make your body surface as BIG as possible to possibly prevent line entanglement

    Many safe jumps and landings

    Blue Skies :)

  • @wkori I can vouch for him. This is NOT your video. You stole it like a pirate.

  • @rrr1sportrider Why would he lie and why does it matter - its invaluable to learn from.

  • @wkori we demand full footage from the exit !!!

  • @wkori We demand full footage !!

  • @wkori

i hope both of You didnt end this day sober :)

    Blue skies.

  • yes ...you said it. the important thing is to track away....than open

  • WTF

  • that's really american style of skydive, 1 time i jumped in usa and never again!!! the most are so silly and have no idea what e seperation and jumprun is!!

  • Nonsense, I jump in the USA and there's a significant emphasis on separation and tracking.

  • first rule when heading toward a canopy is to turn to the right

  • The trouble is that toggle whipping right swings your body out to the left temporarily and you can see how little time they had. That's probably a wide angle lens so it was CLOSE. It's just a bad situation to be in.

  • That's not true, actually. A canopy and it's lines work in tension so you can only pull the suspended jumper, you can't push them out. The place where you can really see this is when you see someone dragging a toe through the pond and they turn. What you're feeling is that you're swinging out in front of the canopy through the turn as the one side is braked.

  • Right, but the skydiver is a pendulum, he is in suspension but he can be thrown out in a turn due to the momentum of his forward speed. It is true that you cannot push him out to the side, however as the canopy turns he will continue to travel straight and very rapidly be swing around as he pendulums about the turning wing. This can make a sudden evasive manuever futile at best and counter productive at worst as you generate a larger horizontally sweeping arc.

  • pls notice: I put this video up for EVERYONE TO LEARN, AND SAVE LIVES! Read ALL the comments up below, and follow, what is right! Try to avoid the same mistake, that I (we) did!!! Blue Skies! Kori

  • dude a canopy had opened practically below you as well. there must not have been any separation between groups. at least leave a good 10-15seconds depending on the conditions :S. though good use of the rear riser turns you have been taught in case of an emergency.

  • Jesus! Rather than Allo!! Lucky boys.

  • Jesus, if his partner has 200 jumps and did that.... I have 21 jumps and know to track, know to get more separation, and to fucking turn right when approaching another canopy. Wow!

  • Pokerstar2004, when you have more jumps you may realize that you can screw up, at around 100 jumps I was up with a Navy Seal Leap Frog doing all sorts of stuff and I had so much fun that when he tracked I just watched him pull and dumped in place, at the time it was a non factor, we had separation but I should have done my part. Understand that as a skydiver you WILL screw up, guaranteed and you will probably get away with it. Guys with years in the sport and 1000s of jumps screw up sometimes.

  • thanks for posting - informative

  • fuck me talk about a zoo, you didnt even mention the near miss in freefall?

  • And what happens if you have a mal or a long snivel? Do NOT rely on vertical separation.

  • Anyone else ALSO see the canopy opening DIRECTLY BELOW them, at the 0:08 mark in this video as well? HOLY F'in A!!! ...Please tell me where you guys jump, so I can stay the F AWAY from there! ...This was a MULTIPLE FATALITY just waiting to happen in SO MANY WAYS - let alone and not just the off-heading, NO TRACK near collision as the prime purpose and narrative of this being posted up was about!

Hopefully, you guys have LEARNED UP a LOT more than even on the surface of it, you NEED!

  • I saw that as well. No seperation, no track, possible canopy collision (in freefall, as well as under canopy) Come on guy's. read the fucking manual.

  • fuck, that was close..

  • wow man where are you from? student with less than 200 jumps? i was a shit load better than that with less than 50. glad you guys made it out okay but yeahh....track more

  • Agreed 100%.

just track farther, or stagger opening altitudes. shit. I had world records under my belt at 180 jumps.

  • You want to scrap bitch!!

  • wow that closeee to crash

  • not a good way to learn crew

  • excuse me, but right after seeing him coming, did you shout "YOUR right!"???

  • Heh. Take a fright, turn... oops, that's left.

  • "you all right?"

  • "GO RIGHT"

  • I heard "ur right"

  • something like that, close call wasnt it. fwoo...

  • looks like you are all on top of each other, not good

  • At 7-9 seconds, there is a blue chute opening below you. That is insane. Don't you ask each other what altitudes you're going to pull at, before boarding and load in order? Never FF through another's pull altitude.

  • the near collision is not the only problem here. There is a third (blue) canopy also opening dircetly below you. Are you exiting on top of each other? Why are there so many people in the same airspace? You need good extit separation and you need to learn to make a good flat track.

  • Minha nossa!!Que bando de gringo lenheiro!!!

  • fuck me in the head that was close

  • i saw someone i jumped with tracking right in front of my pilote chute... that bastard once i punched him in the face when down could only tell me that he saw my parachute down and instead of avoiding it, he just went to track off my fucking chute..safety first guys.. learn how to track off !! get the tracking derby competition at your dropzone.. you ll learn some interesting tricks !!

  • someone got skill!

  • give me the video link. lol just messing awsome video dude :)

  • oh my God, scary

  • Glad you were so quick and are alright wkori, and Thanks for posting your vid. Blue Skies!

  • I hope you hit that guy in the face with a tire iron once you got on the ground. colisions are not cool. haven't had a close call yet, but I have seen a couple that resulted in fights or screaming contests.

  • We usually just thank the other guy for not going to sleep at the controls. A hand shake will usually open the floor for dialogue. Find out what was going through each others heads.

You can't be held responsible for an off heading opening. It happens, learn from it. Oh, and keep those lines tidy at pack.

  • Nice avoidance procedure.

Turning right was the correct thing to do.

BTW did you remember to stow your lines evenly?

French links should be at the same place (side by side) until the last stow.

Do it clean and no milking the lines please.

  • I think that guy wonted to hit you on purpose, but he mis you!!!!

    Take care with those psychopats!

  • you should have high fived each other that would have been awesome. lol great post

  • Cool video!

  • WOW. ever hear "plan the jump, Jump the plan?" Usually Tracking is included. I'm glad all worked out for you and hopefully you learned to get some seperation. Scary stuff.

  • JTVal27 ever hear "man plans, God ends?" Yes, usually tracking is included, but if the other one does not(pls read the "Video Owner Options" below) than happens what U saw in the video. By the way, U're true: it's scary stuff and hopefully everyone,

who saw this video, and undersands it, will learn from it! That's why I put it here!

  • WOW. I watched the vid a few times again. Was the person with the blue canopy in your skydive? It looks like you and the other skydiver (with the red/white canopy) fell on either side of someone who was already deployed?

I See that you tracked a little but it looked like the other (red/white) didn't track at all. He had his knees down. I would love to see that whole video if you don't mind.

I don't know what you mean by read the video owner options. Where do I find them so I can read?

  • Blue skyes! ;-)

  • @JTVal27 As we always say :P Plan the jump and JUMP the plan! heehee

Blue skies - From South Africa :)

  • Ever heard of separation???

  • lol, my thoughts exactly

  • post it all plz

  • Yea, I'd love to see the full video too.. you can upload 10 minutes of video....

  • wow reson 1 im never skydiving

  • close one :) , glad your ok

  • I just started jumping I would like to understand your situation as well.

  • Sure - Please do - I'd love to see it. I am a skydiver. Not a skygod, (under 200 jumps,) but would be very interested.

  • Utlimate question - Why was separation so bad that there were so many canopies opening so close to each other at the same time? Bad tracking? Either way, good job of saving your life..

  • are U a skydiver .too?

if U are, Ican send u the whole video, and the whole situation, that i was going throw! If U're a skydiver, than U'll understand it,and I can tell, what was happening to me, maybe U can learn from it, as I did.

  • well check that as he bout to open u can see a canopy openin below him then as he avoids that one and pulls even before he takes control theres someone flying at him. damn i would of near shit myself!

  • sweet, I bet your heart stopped for a second:)

  • yes, it did! I haded to pull my knees to my face to avoid the guy. his parachute flied only millimeters from my ass.
