I almost drowned here years ago when boobieboarding on a huge day. I was the farthest one out and a freak wave came in. Looked like it was 12 to 15 foot face. Had to duck dive the upper third of the wave, and kick like crazy so I wouldn't get sucked over. It was starting to pitch over at the top. Everyone else got worked on the inside. I'll never forget that day. This was one of my favorite spots in the winter for over ten years. I do ipsc sport shooting now at Ukumehame shooting range now.
