I hate to say this, but if I were in as bad a shape as that family, I probably would've sold the doll to buy food. I would've put a dress on a corncob, handed it to my kid and said "Here's your new friend, "Maize-y..."

Then I would've said, "Don't worry, NAFTA's only a few years away and all the jobs will come down here! Of course, they'll only pay 3 cents an hour, but at least you'll have one! Until all the jobs get shipped off to China...."

This was a terrible movie for a kid to watch. No God, just santa, nightmarish things, demons invading childrens nightmares and tempting wayward orphans, strange looking reindeers, santa claus was kinda creepy too, the way he was smiling, Their was mild racism, they should have made this the MST3k movie.LOL

This movie was unnecessarily religious (I don't mind religious movies if they contribute to the story and fit the situation though), insensitive, and had terrible, terrible child acting.

On the plus side, it looks like at least the actors were having fun.

But I wouldn't want to watch this any other way.

This was without question, one of the most soul-searingly bad movies ever presented on MST3K. It was so bad, it didn't even had the balls to show any credits at the end, just to see who played Lupita.

@TimelordR Not really since it was never really a religious holiday as much as an adopted pagan holiday to bring new people to the church. Christmas as we know it began in Victorian times when it became a chance to give gifts to loved ones without seeming improper since you could disguise it as "Santa Claus" :p
