this happened to my mommas grave she was just buried with her husband the ground was settling thats all the grounds keeper goes and fills it in...but not knowing this it does look freaky
I was there this year the grave looks normal now. As Jason said, this is the way a grave will look a few days or weeks after a burial--the workers eventually come back and level the earth off, put down grass seed, etc.
actually this is not uncommon, after the grave is dug, the vault is in place and after the casket is placed inside the vault and the grave is covered most of the time the grave diggers will "mound" the dirt over the grave. When it rains the dirt around the vault will settle and tne mounded dirt will fall into place. If there was a good bit of rain after the service this could explain why it looks the way it does. Its very simple to repair, add more dirt.
well i went back up there a few days ago and nothing had been done to the grave, there was extremley larger holes in the grave. I guess the church is just gonna leave this lady partially burried. i made a call to the church and once again left a message...verry sad:(
That night (tuesday 7/7/09) was very disturbing when we found this. I feel who ever buried her did a shitty job an they really need to come back out and fix this issue. With this cemetery being in the middle of a forestry, there are many wild animals who could possibly be digging an can disturb her spirit. But thank you for going back out there during the day to make sure we was seeing things right!
big deal it just needs a bit more dirt. Not like the body is lying on the ground sheesh
