Don't take it, the man tried to make me take it can cause brain damage. Why are you worried about weight loss you, you don't seem fat to me. Your mind is more important than your body, anyway...

And belive I was better off without it.( My addvice) Don't belive a thing these doctors say and stay away from all these medications, all they are is drug pushers. Anyone who says anything different is a compleate idiot.
ok im not trying to bug you, but these meds all do the same thing, the mood stabelizers will make you have no emotions but be horribly depressed and gain weight, the anti depressants, especially welbutrin will just make you easily irritated and irritable and can actually make you break down, you dont need meds, you need to learn to cope with your mental illness, im horribly bipolar with alot of different varying psychosis but ive learned to cope, it took along time but im almost normal now
@1787dude even though ur right about the wellbutrin, about it making me feel miserable. it had also been a great weight loss aid when i need it most. i just dont see any point in taking it for any other reason than that. the xanax however i absolutely MUST have strictly because my panic attacks. especially if my constant nightmares and daily emptional stress leave m,e with a racing mind and countless sleepless nights. there are some things that happen where hypnosis alone wont be enough.
@JuneYankee you take xanax constantly or just when you have panic attacks, ive learned to cope with the most crippling anxiety you could imagine with no meds.i hated wellbutrin because when i was on it i was a madman, and it made my anxiety worse, id rather be fat than be on that stuff, i never slept or ate food when i was on that stuff but im horribly bipolar and kinda schizo ive learned to cope with that too, without meds. the key is focusing on normal things constantly distracting yourself

I was diagnosed with OCD and general anxiety disorder almost 6 years ago. The doc perscribed seroquel to me, however it turned me into a drooling zombie so I stopped taking it. It is not easy but you can deal with it without antidepressants. Don't give up June and good luck...
I really hope that you managed to remain free of that drug.I know someone was prescribed the same in the 90's.Fortunately they came off it and all the others anti psychotic drugs and remained free .My sincere advice to you is do not attend appointments with a psychiatrist if you are forced, do whatever you can to escape to a new town forget them leave the drugsYou will cope, your body will adjust to not having the medication but it will take a few weeks and you will suffer but will be O.K.

I've taken respiradol in the past and it turned me into a zombie. I take olanzapine/zyprexa now and the olanzipine is not that bad except for some weight gain, and sleepiness, at first when I took the drug. I run 3 times a week, so jogging for 30min helps with my wait. I've had heightened states of extreme fear from respiradol. A psychiatrist told me that they give it to everyone because it's cheap. Olanzepine is more expensive. Respiradol/respiradone gave me temporary amnesia once. :(
Watch the documentary on YouTube called "Marketing the Madness" about the pharmaceutical companies: it will open your eyes. I tried to post the link, but it wouldn't let me. It is a little long (18 videos) , but totally worth it! You seem like a very smart girl who can think for herself (way to go!) and you have every right to question the things you are putting in your body! Listen to yourself...trust yourself...you will know what is right for you.
marijuana... I tried to convince him again and he said no, and I couldnt convince my father i didnt need it... So i just started lying and saying I was taking the pills and I was feeling great. After a few weeks of not having any effects from discontinuation I just quit seeing my psychiatrist(even though he blew my phone up), and I quit lying to my pops. Ive been off the drug for abt 4months now, and I'm fine. My only regret is the legal issues I'm goin thru now because I cant explain my case
(cont) side effects. I was prescribed risperidal, I was in college when I took the drug and had a gf, after a week I told the doctor I wanted to be tooken off because I couldnt do math, and I couldnt get in the mood sexually... My reasoning was that maybe If I just quit marijuana it would be enough to avoid any episodes seeing as how I didnt have any until I smoked strong weed day in day out. He said no!... After researching the drug I realized it was more dangerous physically and mentally then
I took risperidone for abt 2 weeks, I couldnt take it anymore so I quit... I turned 21 in july and I had my first psychotic episode (amongst 3) abt 3 months before my 21st birthday... During the time I had my first episode I was smoking alot of pot, which the psychiatrist said triggered episodes. On my 3rd episode I was driving crazy, got pulled ovr by cops, yelled sum crazy shit and was put in jail and released in a hospital... I saw a psychiatrist and the said i showed schizophrenic (cont)
@unforgiven911 u know what, i totally agree! i sure do hope i never have to see another pill such as this (or anything in the class of antipsychotics) ever again! i got lucky the one and only time i tried it didnt do any serious damage!
i have a friend who's taking risperdal and it's actually helping him. it's true that a lot of the commonly prescribed psychiatric drugs can have devilish side effects, but also the internet holds misleading resources that can make you mistrust every psychiatrist and medication... which you shouldn't. i've taken medications that have fatal and/or unpleasant side effects before, and i don't regret it.
They prevent us from achieving consciousness expansion. The system is corrupt. These pills stole my reading abilities as well, I still will have problems for the rest of my life due to these corrupt psychiatrists trying to cover for each other and keep people from telling the truth about this terrorist government that is enslaving us with these illusions, money, the Federal Reserve, it's all corrupt and supports cruelty.
oh and P.S dont take it!! if you've researched it and your sure of those symptoms say that they scare you and tell your psychiatrist 'your supposed to be helping me get better not kill me quicker". if you can, find some cases people have had taken those and show her the true outcome.
i got put on Sertraline for ages and i felt really sick at first because your body has to take it in and then after about 5 days u feel amazing. its kinda like zoloft
June, I am a huge fan. I hear your struggle. I'm 33 now, but had an awful time with medication and mental health diagnosis when I was a younger adult. There was so much painful experimentation time, but once the right med combination was found, I started to get my life back again. I couldn't do it on meds alone. Cognitive therapy and support groups added a lot to regaining myself. I still have to work very hard to stay even. Risperdal was not for me either.
i quit after the 1st pill thank goodness!!!! believe me i was waaaay to frightened and i knew it was just too risky, so i demanded to my shrink that he take me off it (i did that shortly after my 2nd installment of this vid), when i made it strictly clear to him my great fears about this horribile KILLER drug!!!!!!
superficial you are i really thought you were above such thing as weight issues when in reality you're fine looking .i was lessoning to your relaxation videos and felt good thinking that you have some kind of super self esteem due to self control and discipline reached threw intense meditation ...i'm deceived to see that you are as much uncomfortable with your body and your mind as i am
I think there's something to be said for someone's who's "been through it" to do these relaxation things for others.
If I may: From the late 80's to early 90's I went through a depression, but I got over it. Maybe this is just too much dang positive thinking for some people's tastes, but I believe that when you get so far down, the only way you can go is up. I think, "June", that you have hit that point now, and I'm looking forward to great things happeing for you from now on! Take care!
Fuck you madiovich. Why is it bad to want to be healthy? Yes, she looks fine! However, if she wants to reach an even more healthy weight then why knock her like that?! Its lazy fuckers like you who sit here and want everyone to be as pitiful as you are. As someone with a great body that had to earn it, I will say that I think she will get SO much happiness from acheiving her desired weight. So why don't you go fuck ur bitch ass self madi. And go for it June! You got it!
@madiovich I think this response is shocking. She clearly has issues with how shes looks. So what? She is young! That's what most young people have. You can't criticize a persons other talents for personal issues. Mozart, Mark Twain, Einstein etc all had bipolar. I can say this as I have done extensive research for my Psychology department. Bi Polar Disorder is heavily linked to advanced creative ability.
Moreover, this medication has worked really well on me, and I have never suffered of anything dramatic, exept insane weight gains when I couldn't train or run. You just have not to eat everytime you,re hungry cause you are actually always hungry with this medication. On my side, the weight gain can be of 15-20 pounds a month, but it takes 3 weeks to lose if you want hehe. Hope that helps you choosing weither to take it or not.
Sorry about my english or typo, I'm not a born english speaker.
Okay listen, 7 years ago, researches had proven that Risperdal was actually benefic for people having Tourette's syndome or whatever it's called in english. I have tourette's and have been taking Risperdal for the past 7 years.
Side affects? It makes me eat 7-8 meals a day but i do a lot of sport so yeah i'm still quite in shape. Else, it makes me sleep MUCHHH better every night I can sleep for 12 hours in a row without waking up even if a fire was lit in my house.
Okay - I just took a look at the website link that you were reading. Don't read these! The people who are posting on here are, by and large, paranoid schizophrenics who don't want to take their meds. When they hear voices they have all kinds of hallucinations. If you are taking this for anxiety you will be just fine!
My question to you would be, what else are you taking? And what is your diagnosis? There are other options out there if this one doesn't work or you don't want to take it.
well, as i said in the vid, wellbutrin, which was originally prescribed yrs ago for mt depression, but find it helps me not no "pig out". also, im on luvox, xanax, and buspar, and ambien all at the same time. my first diagnosis was at 5 yrs old was mild autism ( most believe i dont even have it anymore, lol). but here are the actual diagnosises-- major depression, OCD, and severe anxiety. it is suspected that i also have panic disorder because i recently reported getting panic attacks alot!
You poor thing! You have been through a lot! So your Luvox is an SSRI which helps anxiety and panic. The Wellbutrin does the same thing for norepinephrine and dopamine that Luvox does for serotonin in the brain. Your Xanax is a benzodiazepine for sleep and anxiety. Your Buspar helps your Wellbutrin to work for anxiety. And ambien for sleep, obviously. That is a lot to be on at one time. Did your doctor add the Risperdal on top of all that?
I am NOT a doctor, but it really sounds like you are on a lot of medications. Do you trust your doc, or do you think maybe you might want a second opinion?
well, my psychiatrist insists, and he is all about prescribing drugs left and right. he gives me very little time to explain much of wat im going through. i guess its lucky i get good health insurance, or else i couldnt take anything, see anybody or get any help. im supposed to see my shrink on the 8th this month, and hes gonna not want to hear that i havent been taking the risperdal. just that one pill, thats it!
People who get Tardive Dyskinesia are the ones diagnosed with Schizophrenia who have to be on really large doses. But if you are worried about it, ask your doctor for an SSRI like Lexapro or an SSRI that also works on dopamine, like Effexor. Risperdal in connection with these really helps anxiety and OCD. In SMALL doses! You won't get TD!
lexapro......again, been there, done that!ive even read somewhere where the person took the tiniest dose for the first time and experienced dramatic side effects!........but much to my dismay and despair, i will dread making the next video to follow this one. itll be up soon, so stay tuned for part 2!
I know everyone's chemistry is very different. For me, life is so much better with Lexapro; I cannot imagine going off of it and returning to that horrible, crushing depression that I used to have. Best of luck in your quest!
I took Risperdal for about 6 months for anxiety. I took it in conjunction with my antidepressant. It worked. BUT, I could not stay awake during the daytime! It works great for certain people. Don't believe everything you see online! Tardive Dyskinesia does not happen iovernight. Y would know LONG before-hand if you were getting that. It starts as musle tremors. It is a possible side effect of any antipsychotic, but if you are taking small doses for depression you would never get that.
I wouldn't nag anyone to take anything psychoactive.
That said, I took Risperdal for about a year, and I can attest to some unpleasant side effects. I stopped taking it mainly because I was no longer in a situation where my problems were too severe (that being, I finally got out of high school), and later on my medical coverage lapsed.
If I could find a supply, I would gladly resume taking it though. It's complicated to explain why here though.
june, let me tell you something. Long/short story. I was put on a drug after an illness. Before i started taking, it i heard the same horror stories you are hearing about the drug i was taking(ie, that it caused horrible side effects). But i needed something and it turned out to be the best medication i could have taken. Take your meds that the doctor gives you. Dont worry about something that hasnt happened, till it happens.
Most people dont have side affects from drugs and for that reason often you are not taken seriously. Often doctors assume the side affects you experience are psychosomatic because you have read them! Its always scary reading the side affects, Ive had terrible problems with blood pressure tablet side affects.
But...dont forget that unhappy people are most likely to post on websites, the happy people often dont. Take your time, theres no hurry to decide. Oh...you look thin to me!
I am not a doctor so I cannot offer any medical advice of any kind.
There are however some general points I would like to make
1. Firstly what you take is your decision. If you don't want to take it you don't.
2. All drugs have side affects and it is a matter of balancing the side effects against the positive effect of the drug's ability to correct the illness/condition. At what point do the negative effects outweigh the positive both in terms of physical wellbeing and your quality of life.
Oh and also he is underweight, if only the medication did help him put on weight....

well, as i said in the vid, wellbutrin, which was originally prescribed yrs ago for mt depression, but find it helps me not no "pig out". also, im on luvox, xanax, and buspar, and ambien all at the same time. my first diagnosis was at 5 yrs old was mild autism ( most believe i dont even have it anymore, lol). but here are the actual diagnosises-- major depression, OCD, and severe anxiety. it is suspected that i also have panic disorder because i recently reported getting panic attacks alot!

Did your doctor add the Risperdal on top of all that?

sadly yes

You won't get TD!

lexapro......again, been there, done that!ive even read somewhere where the person took the tiniest dose for the first time and experienced dramatic side effects!........but much to my dismay and despair, i will dread making the next video to follow this one. itll be up soon, so stay tuned for part 2!

that is of course, referring to risperdal!

FWIW I didn't gain weight, but did on Wellbutrin

june, let me tell you something.

I read the side affects from Risperdal's website.
Count me in as one less person "nagging you to take it".

3. Is there an alternative drug which will have the same positive effect but with less dramatic/more acceptable side-effects.
4. Get a second/third/fourth opinion until you are satisfied.
I know I have not been of much help but I see your distress and hope you find the help you need.
