@ shaada100, to get to grade 1 it will normall take you around a year. I have been moving exceptionally quickly and if your really enjoying piano after a year and a half you will be doing your grade 2 exam in no time!
I want to buy an electric piano but this is quite scary watching this if its a Grade one piece, how long would it take to get to this standard of playing for grade one and would it be worth investing in an electirc piano if i'm serious?
@shaada100 I am 45 and am teaching myself piano with the help of some DVD's- "learn and master Piano w/ Will Barlow". and Learning to read music with any sheet music I can find. It is fun and I make steady progress because I love it... if the passion is there... you can do it! BTW I recommend the Yamaha E Pianos like the YPG 600 series .. has weighted keys and feels almost like the real thing.... Go for it!!!
my opinion, start to get lessons, see if you really like playing, also you will find that doing thoes peices really inst hard (thats comming from a 13 year old who hasnt had lessons yet) you will get to know how to play piano with full chords and not one note like in the vid easy, if you have the money and you like it an you have lessons go ahead and get one but i would go for a touch sensitive high quality keyboard if your not 100% shure you will stick with it
@shaada100 Take them up for a month, if you don't like it ... don't keep it going, if you do buy an electric piano. And it will take a month or two to play those.
This is how I thought it was supposed to be played, given what was written on the sheet. Frankly I'm quite worried for my little sister, as her teacher doesn't teach her to keep rhythm, or play the trill correctly. As a result, she is making a butchery of the piece.
Sure it can be done in 10 minutes. And what about the rest of the grades, It would be a really usfull help if a teacher can post the lot. Still good help though!

Word to starting piano at the age of 23! I've just got the pieces but I won't be able to do the exam till september.
I've chosen Allegro in F, Banges Herzelein and of course Mini Rag!
Good luck!

Well played, do you have videos for A3, B2 and C2?
radiojunk1 4 years ago
Well played! I played A1 and C1 for my first grade and passed with a distinction!
A1 = 28/30
C1= 30/30
Could you make a video for Grade 2 pieces including:
Allegro - Haydn
The Bee - Rowley
