Hopefully that was but since it seems that most models are getting "good" ratings and drivers travel faster, it is now time for the IIHS to raise the standards of the frontal crash test of 45 or so mph so injuries/deaths will continue to reduce.
According to the pattern so far, the new tests would start October 13, 2010 and be 45 mph. But I've heard of no plan of upgrading the tests, and it's April 5.

Audi sollte alle Modelle ab Modelljahr 2008 gegen die Wand fahren lassen. Sehen hinterher um einiges ansehnlicher aus ^^

@unknownunknowns i agree.
NHTSA - started May 21, 1979 - 35 mph frontal
IIHS - started January 31, 1995 - 40 mph offset
According to the pattern so far, the new tests would start October 13, 2010 and be 45 mph. But I've heard of no plan of upgrading the tests, and it's April 5.

@whattheheck1000 Thanks. Are you refering to the IIHS or NHTSA?
unknownunknowns 1 year ago
@unknownunknowns Either of them, or perhaps a completely new agency.

@unknownunknowns My prediction was months off. NHTSA introduced a batch of new tests in June 2010, releasing the results October 5.
