  • Turbo > Blower. No if, ands, or buts. Blowers take power to make power... in a time with such advanced automotive technology should we be using something that takes power away from the motor to make power? Seems extremely inefficient for the 21st century.

  • Turbo is always better then whining like a bitch

  • good ole firebird

  • lol when are you retards gonna learn putting a s/c on a V8 which needs no help gettin low end power and T/Q isnt helping you at all give help where the V8's needs it TOP END HP give a V8 a turbo Im tellin they will best friends for life

  • You're spot on. Stock, any LSx car can pretty much exceed its traction limit in first gear at WOT, so why supercharge to make it even worse? Turbo's are always better.

  • @hites05 yeah but ppl who can afford superchargers can also afford drag radials..i have a 99 camaro SS with a P1 SC prochager/ cammed/ 3k stall with built auto and full exhaust with water/meth injection....once i heat my drag radials a lil on street then i can launch almost as hard as at the track..but then again..i'm also running 315 wide Mickeys's..they hook better than any other drag radial if you ask me...but yes..a boost ONLY modded LS1...then a turbo is a good way to go

  • You could always go centrifugal. cough cough "procharger" ;)

  • Just curious, what did the Cobra run? I thought I saw 11.10......... Is that it?

  • 12 or 11, the camaro had a 13

  • you said in the video, "chad's 03 cobra". is it chad turner from phoenix? just curious btw....

  • Yup thats him! Now he moved back to TX though. :(

  • I assume with a T-76 that its a single. Does that setup take up a lot of room? Also, what kind of numbers on the dyno do you get on pump gas? I ask because I've got an LS1 in my s13 and I;m lookin for some forced induction but the only thing that looks like its going to fit is a roots type (which I'm not interested in).

  • ls1 in an s13 damn i bet that thing moves pretty good lol, idk who's camaro that is but its stock displacement on 10psi so thats probably around 500 to 550rwh im guessin... but that camaro should easily handle 18psi probably with lower compression and forged internals, he should have turned up the boost :)

  • On a stock motor at 325 HP at 10PSI it works out to just over 550 HP. If anyone who follows Gale Banks theories on turbo charging 1 PSI gives you aprox 7% HP gains on baseline HP before turbo equipment and so on. Try it out with dyno runs you see on YouTube and other videos, it works out to nearly 5%+- everytime. Good thing to keep in mind when your trying to figure out what pressure to run with the HP figure you have in mind. 18 PSI would work out to about 730HP.

  • true but how much horsepower added per pound of boost mainly depends on the compression ratio...

  • Like I had mentioned earlier that assumption of 7% is based on the motors "stock" setup. Things such as low compression pistons, intercoolers, cams, even simple bolt ons such as CAI and full exhausts will further support a turbo system increasing it's efficiency which equals more power. Compression ratio is important, but not as important without without having other parts/modifications to support it. It's a pyramid effect, you can't do one thing without having to do another.

  • haha yea i know i was just saying.. you can put boost on to lets say a engine thats stock and meant to be n/a but you wont be able to run a whole lot of boost... probably only between 5 or 10 max depending on that it is...

  • Hey man, I'm seriously looking into this as well as an upgrade from my SR20 setup. I'm still debating, but I'd like to hear you have to say on it.

I agree with forced induction, I couldn't stand to not have some boost on top of the LS1's monstruous effect on an S13 chassis like mine.
