Lol I thought this commercial was about transitioning from a boy to a man... I'm tired man and u steering me in the wrong directions is only wasting my time, I have paid every bill u put in my face, I was serious about doing this
No words, 12 chimes of the church bell, hard work til the early hours, classic moments and a powerful message. This is the greatest commercial ever made!
Cinderella is a character of a story in which she has to come back home at midnight because of a witchcraft. In this commercial, "there are no cinderellas" is a word game, considering the scene of the clock that strikes the 12:00 pm...it means that you can't stop training only because it's too late.
Cinderella is someone, a disadvantaged someone, that finds success by luck or good fortune or a fairy godmother and not by hard work, dedication...blood sweat tears.
Cinderella Stories are generally teams from small schools, or schools that are generally not seen as "sports schools" challenging the usual "powerhouses" of sports.
Like the footage that the guys were watching in the locker room, it was footage of NCState winning the NCAAM Basketball Championship, probably the most famous Cinderella Story in College sports.
I think the definition of a "Cinderella" in terms of sports actually stands for teams that are underdogs that go on and beat teams that that they're not supposed to, (IE NY Giants 2008 NFL Playoffs beating a series of teams then the undefeated Patriots). This video shows that players such as CP3, MJ and those teams in the video are not actually Cinderellas because they train hard and commit long hours into practice (training at night), they're not flukes, hence THERE ARE NO CINDERELLAS.
You guys are all wrong... "there are no cinderellas" means that you don't have to stop what your doing at midnight... why do you think chris paul kept running?
i think kobe and lebron are great players, amazeing players, i just get tired of people saying they're better then jordan or is going to be better then jordan. jordan is and will always be the greatest of all time
To all of you Kobe fans out there, let's see if the entire spectrum of U.S. sport (basketball, football, baseball, track, etc.) Will be influenced by Kobe's legend as they are by MJ's. I understand this is a very well thought out marketing agenda by nike, but it couldn't be possible if MJ's legend wasn't so extraordinary and out of this world. Michael Jordan is the G.O.A.T. and these motivational clips are articulations of his greatness, and it will indeed live forever. MJ FOR LIFE!
BTW, I'm only 21, and I got to see the latter half of Jordan's career (the second three-peat) as a kid. Living in LA, i got into fist fights with magic and laker fans because they were hating. MJ is my hero forever. Kobe fans should also notice how Kobe's entire game is shaped around MJ's, (except for the defense and exceptional passing) . And now with Lebron in the league, doing what he did against detriot last year, Kobe's star is slowly fading, and he won't win another title, MJ FOR LIFE!.

From the June 30 2008 edition of SI "How Dreams Die." Just as inspirational, especially if you're going through an injury.
Today is a new day, a new beginning.
It has been given to me as a gift.
I can either use it or throw it away.
What I do today will affect me tomorrow.
I cannot blame anyone but myself if I do not succeed.
I promise to use this day to the fullest by giving my best, realizing it can never come back again.
This is my life and I choose to make it a success.
