I think that means sometimes you just can't do the right thing (which would be to help the guy), not because you don't want to but because your hands are tied (he'd been doing push ups all day, he couldn't move)

Beautiful Video. Fran tried to prove that mind is over matter/body..and he did when he continued to do pushups till midnight. But he was proven wrong when he tried with all his heart to help someone in need but his body, worn out from a day's worth of push-ups.. couldn't help no matter how hard he wanted to get up.

I like this point a lot... it's absolutely true. Mind over matter is a great thing... but we shouldn't squander it's value. In this video Fran misses out a lot on the things that "count" by using all his energy to win his bet. The girl had obviously taken a shine to him too (so he misses out on a good thing as well as being unable to stop the bad thing).
