you dont use starting fluid on a diesel.. its a pain in the ass when you have to tear the motor down like i did because someone used ether on my tractor
I don't want to preach, but arms, legs and lives get lost in un-guarded PTO shafts! Yes the guards are expensive for what is basically a plastic tube but how much would you pay for a new arm if you lost one? Stay safe.
dont worry about it stuff happends im 14 and bale hay iv hit a fence post that was on the ground and idk why your 4230 starts so hard i have the same tractor and i dont have that big of a problem starting mine in 50 degree weather i dont plug it in ethier
hey man,i only just found out about your videos, but allready i subscribed, cause i love them!!
i myself am working on a farm here in the netherlands, and i am driving john deere tractors as well, and what i rally like about your vids is that they really show what a farmer is going through these days.
it's not just like what most people think, that you jump on the tractor in the morning, drive around a bit and make money that way, there's more to it. thanks for the vids man, hope to see more very soon..
obviously many on here are "perfect"???? I would only drive a Deere and mine sure is not power washed prior to each outing, had not a thing to do with making hay for sure...wow what a rock! Life of a farmer...work is never done and never super weather or conditions when making hay! Bless you for your patience! We use a JD 24T and seem to get the job done.
@brassyusa my friend pulled his 24t out of his barn it had sat there for 10 years he greased it and put a new pto hitch on it and it bales great hay the knives need sharpened hehad a problem with thetension so he pit a hammer in the bale of twine and ran the string through the claw on the hammer it never missed a not after that
you need new interior eh ? try to keep the tractor looking spiffy, pressure wash it sometimes .you can buy sheets of leather or outdoor carpet and make you some new interio panels
Brother, I feel for you. I occasionally bale hay for a neighbour friend, and his field used to be an old cattle pasture - strewn with rocks about that size. I've caught the odd one, but my equipment is worth perhaps 1/3 of yours. I also agree with sbcsquarebale above: disengage the pto when troubleshooting - it's even easier to stumble and fall into it while splitting your concentration between the pto and the camera. my two cents
thats agreed for sure and i have since bought some different mounts so i dont have to hold the camera anymore... definitely a safety issue there when running equipment
I was just wondering because my old john Deere 4020 will never start in the winter but all our old case and fords fire right up. I am still learning I just figured you might know something I didnt.
That's one way to change a tyre lol. I would have got the 2240 out with the loader on it to lift the baler up and get someone to drive the 4230 forward.
It sure do's fella. Man owes his existance on earth, To a six inch layer of topsoil and the fact that it rains, lol, Trivia, a Foot of snow is an inch of rain, An everyone shout an tell Wayne about that PTO gard, cos if it gets his trouser leg , he'll be making his living sing Soprano,
I will never complain about moisture no matter how miserable it makes it to work... and yes I will get to fixing that PTO shaft... now where did I put that gaurd
thats part of the reason why we run a New Holland 565 baler. the pickup assembly just rides on a couple hinges and goes right over stuff like that. i think the fingers are a little longer also so the guards wont scrape
the only thing i dont like about our NH is the time it takes to open the frame from transport position and the lack of hydros to move the shoot and pickup. the baler is from the late 90's and everything is held up by chains and pins.
but the best thing about it is, we do our 3000 bales a year with only a half dozen broken ones
What if you used the jack thats on the baler to prop the high side up and pull the rock out by hand? Could have saved the guards and what not.

What do you thing, could it have been the hauling pin that lifted up that rock? Those green hogs are a bit low underneath aren't they.
