@thegodofpop1 I would say dozens. While Eddie borrows plenty (as we all do) and his moves from rubber guard may play off tried and true moves (recent submissions like the Sorcerer derived from gogo plata is a good example), there is no denying that 10th Planet has added a great deal of new moves to our sport. If you are a student of the larger sport, you'll see the common patterns, but you'll also see new stuff. He's not the only one making up moves, but he has made up some cool ones!
I tried this in class and a guy nearly make me tap by using his whole weight to smash into my biceps, lucky for me i drive my shoulder into him and got the sweep, but my arm hurt after that.
You are driving him back diagonally to the rear. His arm won't help. If he's strong, though, he can post his trapped knee further out to prevent this sweep. Good luck!
Yes, but not for long. Eddie Rocks. I've definitely got a fuzzy memory of those techniques, plus his stuff morphs over time. Who knows what I learned. :)
Nice is this sweep high percentage

@Ubervodka I use this all the time especially to set up a second half guard sweep as a chain.

My understanding is that this is "the new old-school" in the 10th planet system.

so can he not just base out with the free arm? I like the move, will have to see,,, maybe the angle means they can't base out, hard to tell.
Cheers tho :-)

Interesting variation but not old school as Eddie teaches it. There are lots of variations of sweeps out there however.
I've looked at some of your other vids...did you train with Eddie?
cheers!

@Submissions101 Ari Bolden asking the credentials of a youtube poster, haha. Does anyone else find the humor in that?

yeah the old school is just an ankle pick from where the whip-up places you...
anyone know what this sweep actually is?

I like the way you control your opponent's free leg here. I'll have to play around with that.
