@TheUFOeffect I'm getting a 2001 Wolfsburg Jetta tmrw, and I had made the same mistake when I saw the engine about 2 weeks ago, It hought it was a special engine from volkswagen, but it's the 1.8T 20v means 20 Valves if you know anything about engines

@TheUFOeffect What do you mean there's not a turbo? If it's a 1.8T it has turbo unless if someone took it out, which I highly doubt someone would take it out.

@TheUFOeffect Unfortunately, it does have turbo and is 150hp, mostly because of the year and it's not a expensive sport car. The VR6 only has an extra 30hp and the base model Jetta without turbo has 115hp, which isn't all that bad considering there are cars such as my moms which is a 2007 Chevrolet Aveo which has a bit more than 90HP, or A Mitsubishi Lancer Oz Rally 2003 (Was considering buying it) which has about 120Hp and is 2 years newer. Small engine = not much turbo can add in Hp

@TheUFOeffect Well the eclipse is going to be more expensive, I'm not sure if it will be expensive in repairs, but it will be much more costly in fuel vs the Jetta and I personally am not a big fan of the way the 2002 eclipse looks, on the other hand the jetta looks nice not to mention it has turbo which makes it fun to drive and if you're getting the wolfsburg edition like me, has a better suspension. If you just want a car for HP, I'm sure you can get a Civic pretty cheap, or just mod a car

20 valves. meaning, 5 valves per cylinder. 5 times 4 is 20. or 5 valves per 1 spark plug and i have 4 spark plugs. so 4X5=20valves

i have a white 01. 100k. just blew past a cop last night going 110 lol. he let me go because he was going home. damn i'm lucky!!! this car sounds and looks great. i love driving it. tons of fun. i bought mine for 5.5k but had to replace timing belt right away. i'm ready to upgrade further now. V DUUUUUUB!

@jallen2283 your crazy, u got lucky. you can get your drivers license taken away for that. careful now. sounds like an interesting story, good thing u replaced the timing belt, that was the smartest thing u could do. Now once ur clutch goes out upgrade that for more power with a light weight fly wheel.

I have a 2001 jetta w.e., all i can say is one of the greatest practical cars in my book. mine has 250,000 miles with original engine, clutch, transmition, turbo, and suspention. the cltuch is still like brand new along with the transmition.

haha i have THE EXACT SAME VW as in the video. same color and everything and boy i love it... obiously its not as good in condition but its still in good shape. i thought the vr6's were like 20-30 more horsepower... but less customizable.. anyways yea dude sick ride

The Vr6 only has 175 for the mk4's but the jetta wolfsburg is still faster stock.

When you rev, try reving to 2.5 rpms, let go off of the clutch real fast. With the ASR turned off at take off.

5700Rpms

Exactly 3 to 4 notches before you hit the redline and let go off of the4 clutch as fast as you can.

lol i do it right before it hits red. that way i dont waste horsepower. you never wanna shift too early..... or late for that matter

correct, you want to shift BEFORE redline. 5700, Our turbo's aren't that big, but they are big on torque if you chip it. i have APR right now

The white "Clear" Side markers are not what makes a wolfsburg rare. In 2001, only 20k of them were made and sent to north america, the wolfsburg edition consists of higher bolstered sport seats, sport suspension, leather rapped hand stitched gear knob, a 3 spoke steering wheel and the 16in BBS rims. Plus they are made and assembled in Wolfsburg Germany unlike the others, assembled in Mexico. I also own a 01 wolfsburg Bora. V-Dub all the way!

I took this video when i first got the car. so i was a major No0b. However, thanks for letting me know what makes the car rare, I don't have he sport suspension or the 16inch rims or the 3spoke steering wheel. But the rest i have, possible made in mexico, ha. vr6 has less problems, sounds better than the 1.8T. but the 1.8T is faster, has more problems with it, requires special oil and make sure u ask the seller what warranty work has bee done. Has the coolant sensor been replaced? has the brakelight switch been replaced??? timing belt been replaced?

Don't get the MK4 vr6. For they are not as fast as the MK4 W.E. even tho they have more power. The w.e. also gets better gas milage. And last off the w.e. handles beter and comes with extras

yea that is an awesome deal, prob should of paid around 12 to 13 grand, i pritty much have the same car same blue, when i bout my jetta it had the wolfsburg rims on it but its an 01 vr6, with 87k on it i payed 8 grand witch is a very good deal too, the funny thing is i took down a ls300 thats why i wanted to comment. by the way sweet whip
