  • Once i said it and now im asying it again!

    THANKS JAPAN!!

  • we need old shows back not the 3d crap

  • I used to love, and hate this show at the same time as a kid, because it was sad to see the animals get injured or die D:.

  • I love this show why do they treat kids like morons now? This show had a deep storyline and interesting characters and kids loved it. Nowadays kids shows are all a bunch of moronic catchphrases and random cutaway jokes that aren't even funny. Bring back interesting kids shows before we breed a nation of retards.

  • I feel so fucking old now

  • I loved this cartoon. And it has a stupidly catchy intro. If these kinds of cartoons were still on TV I'd gladly get up early on a Saturday to watch them. I'm 22 years old...

  • I had forgotten all about this one, it's all coming back to me now :)

  • Children growing up today are going to be completely retarded due. all the shit that's on TV. This is a series of real quality, not quantity, but quality and that's all that matters. This is one of the best series ever, no discussion.

  • Yeah I used to watch this when I was 5, far better than pokémon.

  • DAMNIT MANKIND Y U DO DIS

  • Nostalgia...ouch.

  • LOVED this show, cartoons should be more like this, drawn so well and detailed!

  • Oh my god. I just reminded how awesome cartoons used to be back in the day, and this one was by far one of the better shows. Never saw too many episodes, but cherished those I did.

  • Cartoons nowadays are all conducted in a meeting that goes like so. "Let's be as whacky, as stupid, as ridiculous and as fucking retarded as we can and rip off that one hit we had, the one with the sponge in it. We'll save money and time by doing on the computer. So we have to use minimal effort the characters will all be in triangles and shapes and will not resemble humans or animals or anything that has actually walked the earth at all... Yeah, let's do that."

  • wow, my whole body just got tingles from watching this intro. the nostalgia is incredible...i'm pining for the past.

  • Was this the German intro?

  • I liked weasel she was my favorite lol

  • I used to love Als die Tiere den Wald verlieβen when I was a kid.

  • Seriously, the way the hedgehogs died was unfair...even now i'm still pissed off about that. Gruesome or what for kids tv.

  • why am i crying :'(

  • i hated the weasel in this show!!

  • omgggggggggg!ive been looking for this cartoon for ages!!is this the one where the animals have to move cause the woods where they live is being destroyed??and some of the animals die that was sadddddddd!

  • lol cement mixer size of moon!!! argh

  • I love this, I love this, I love this. I remember I didn't even notice that everybody spoke new-norwegian. (we have different ways to write in norwegian) This was my favourite show, though I hated it when animals died :'(

  • this brings alot of memories

  • Best programme everrrrrr!!!!

  • Why is it that kids shows today never try to be as mature and intelligent as these ones?

Honestly, sometimes I think that we were the ONLY generation of kids to grow up with decent animation.

  • @TheJboy88 couldn't agree more.

  • @TheJboy88 Avatar the Last Airbender begs to differ, but it's a rare exception

  • Years ago when I was at school me and my classmates would pretend to be characters from this show re-enacting scenes from the show. We either played the hedgehogs, Scarface, Fox or the car that ran the hedgehogs over.

  • I always waited for Adder to get her head kicked in, did it ever happen?

  • best show of all time, i think we managed to watch all but one of the episodes, and that was without the continuous repeats that everything seems to have nowadays

  • Probably one of the best cartoons ever to be made. Simply magnificent.

  • @st1nee still is I still watch it and i'm 21 ahahah

  • Chaos reigns

  • This show was always bitter sweet for me. I could just never shake the feeling that something terrible was going to happen to the animals.

  • Cartoons these days suck compared to this stuff. So nostalgic!

  • Really? To dislike this youd have to be a nazi, some noob who cant get it to, or have a bad mouse that literaly missed the like button. And I cant believe this has the most views of any AoFW video.

  • AAAWH! NOSTALGIA!

  • One of my favorite shows growing up.

  • ahh they dont make cartoons like they used to. This show was ace!

  • This shoe was ver depressing. Loved it though.

Not to worry kids you have....."Hannah Montanna" now.

  • omg, I watched this when I was a kid :3

  • i think its safe to assume, that alot of us furries can call this cartoon one of our absolute favorites of all time.

    i know i do <3

  • This wasn't a dark show but neither was it stricktly for little children either. I rewatched it and, I think it quite good how it teaches the way animals live breed and die sometimes. i mean they wud never wrk together like here, but even that shows u need 2 get along when needs dictate so, loyalty I suppose. a good good show

  • Awww, this used to make me cry so much. Especially when the pheasants died and Mole always felt left out...

But what a great show, it's a shame it still isn't on. I've got all the videos sitting in my room :)

  • This show had such a body count! I remember characters dying all the time! And it was fairly bloody too!

But honestly, it was good! But so very very tragic!

  • awww <3 Memories =')

  • this brings back so many good memories :) love the music and the show

  • nostalgia'd HARD

  • This show was awsome, they dont really make shows like this for children anymore. I was so young at the time, maybe 3-9 years old when it was on but me and my brother loved it heaps, even got up before the sun did in the mornings sometimes to watch it. I lived in the national park then so i was used to fox's and animals dying.

  • I never connected with any other show as a kid as i did with this one. You grew so close to some of the characters, only to see them killed. Every death was so brutal and so sad. Espeicailly when scareface died, he was my favourite character. I was in so much awe of him cuz he was such a badass. I think i was genuinely depressed after watching that episode.

  • when the pheasants die.. I never forgot those moments.

this show had balls, and was one of the best ever along with Peter Rabbit and friends..

    damn I miss it

  • This was on a VHS tape with Fireman Sam and The Clangers. RETRO!

  • REALLY MISS THIS ! :)

  • Wow, the German title really rolls off the tongue, doesn't it!

  • @artsed08 Als die Tiere den Wald verliessen?

  • still on Irish telly. RTE 2 at 6am series link with your sky plus.....yes i am sad being 27 and still watching Animals of Farthing Wood :P

  • @philipwinstonthomas yeah, you should be ashamed of watching art.

  • BEST SHOW EVER!!!

  • heeey I remember this program... it came from tv when I was veeeeery little and didn't quite understand what happened in it. lol

  • yea..!!!!

  • when was this on? i dont remember it

  • @Nanodae "The Animals of Farthing Wood is an animated series by the European Broadcasting Union between 1992 and 1995"

I'm born 1991 so that explains why I remember it so thoroughly!!

  • @RachelCheree91 Ohh I was born in 1997

  • @Nanodae You're my cousins age ^_^ but yeah that explains it. Was on when we (my age) were about 5-7, you were barely born :) it was a really good show. But it's like so many of those things that are 'really awesome' just because we grew up with it, or saw it when we were little.

What's some of your favs? TV shows from when you were little I mean

  • @RachelCheree91 Yeah that makes sense now ^_^ I liked Tweenies, Fimbles, Bits & bobs and The Shiny Show :) oh and The Story Makers. Remember any of them?

  • @Nanodae I remember them, but I never watched them cuz I was a little older by then. :) It's funny how the shows define what age we are :D

  • @RachelCheree91 what were you favourites besides Animals of Farthing Wood?

  • Man those pheasants were fucking IDIOTS.

  • This program was depressing! horrible things kept happening and animals kept dying. Looking back it's admirable that they had the guts to do it, but as a little kid I found it was too upsetting to watch.

  • BEST FUCKIN PROGRAM EVER !!

  • Man is the bastard, go vegan!

  • A Great Series.

You Don't See One's Like this in the West Anymore.

(You Still Do in Japan but Not Here)

There Have Been Some Great Series Like "Oban Star Racer's" & "Skyland"

But on the Whole Morning Programing Just Isn't up to Dog Food Now.

This Series Was Truly Ingrossing, Series Two In Perticular was Surprisingly

"Gritty & No Punches Pulled" You Really End up Feeling for the Characters in a Way that Present Day Bunk Could Never Hope to Do.

May Such Program's One Day be Commonplace again.

  • this was some heavy stuff. never looked at a farm the same again

  • omg used to love this! used to buy the magazines and everything!

  • I wonder why so many kids shows from the 80s/early 90s had a strong environmental message. Nowadays it's all about stupid crap like teen popstars and celebrities. :(

  • @extrekkie13 Agreed.

What Goes Through the Head's of the People who Make the Current Drenn

    Who can Guess??

Their Should Be Law's as to the Minimum I.Q. Level a Programme has to Conform to, Since the Current Drivvel Is Utter Brain Rotting Psuedo Yankee Rubbish.

  • I Fucking hated that Adder!!

  • @mmmbilly HISSSSSS!!

    SSSCaaan I Bite Himmm!?!

(Look What Happend to the Blue Fox (Villian) in Series Two) ;)

  • i love how at 0:29 the badger puts his hand on the foxes ass

  • Amazing intro :) Brings back lovely memories when I was younger

  • I still have an annual for this from forever ago :D I'm gonna read it tonight :')

  • "It was a time of innocence,

    A time of confidences"

Brought tears to my eyes when I remember watching this as a child. After almost 20 years I hear this opening soundtrack again and I remember how it influenced my naive heart & mind. Such a sad and beautiful show.

  • Comment removed

  • Oh my gosh, i used to love this programme! thank you posting this:')

  • aw tears... damn I loved that show as a kid...

  • this was great

  • i remember this show and how sad it was how characters kept being killed off one at a time =/ even when they reached their final destination theya ll kept dying granted it was all realistic situations that these animals get into but for every one of them to fall to the species specific deaths is just horrifyingly coincidental

  • fuck me, i had totally forgotten this show until i came across this video, i'm so FUCKING LUCKY i am a child of the 90's :)

  • Better than the crap they shows kids these days.

  • i think the swedish intro is better

  • I think at the end they just spotted someone's trash can. Now they're going to go digging through it.

  • Loved this show so much as a kid, they really need to just re run these, dont mess with them like they have done with noddy and loads of other stuff

  • I used to love this so much that hearing the theme has just brought tears to my eyes..

  • Used to love this, when i was younger.

  • memories.

  • I always usd to be so sad when then animals died, like when the hedgehog got scaredon the road. Her husband was shouting to her 'come on dear, don't curl up' but she was simply too terrified and the car finished her.

Quite a lesson to learn as a small kid - you grew to love all the characters so 'losing' one was like loosing one of your pets. A real lesson in the harsh realities of life.

  • @mtheadedwally wel said man. Same here.

  • @mtheadedwally Yeah and he ran back to try and get her then they went splat :(

  • NOSTALGIA!

  • i miss it </3

  • Aww .. this cartoon will always hold a special spot in my heart <33

  • 0:13 CHRIST!!! Look at the size of that mixer!!!

  • @timmytank34 looooool

  • @timmytank34

i don't get it, i have something like that in the backyard :D

  • @timmytank34 AAAAH, never realised that, man it's HUGE!

  • @timmytank34 It's GINORMOUS :O

  • I remember how happy hearing this intro would make me. Seriously, one of the greatest shows. Thanks for posting this!

  • This is making me so emotional! I read all the books and watched the show too!

  • This was another really good show i loved as a kid i miss these shows so much the classics are the best :-)

  • This made me cry.

This was the best show ever for kids.

  • OMG I just found this. I can't believe the music is SO familiar. I used to love this. It was like Enid Blyton come to life for me as a kid. Thanks for posting!

  • Good old childrens TV - Good times, and good memories :'(

  • My childhood right here.

  • i agree with major thumper however if they re make it the way they have rupet bear and all the other classics into strange strange cartoons then i will have to beat BBC silly.

  • Why don't they have any good cartoons on anymore?

Even Japenese cartoons will do fine...

I just wanna see another good new cartoon series coming out now.. T_T

  • i jus remember the music and alot of animals dying. a bit depressing TBH. but good drama

  • Eén van de weinige dingen die ik vroeger keek en echt de moeite waard was!

De rest kon mij hoogst van de tijd gestolen worden.

Maar als dit opkwam trapte ik het nooit af!

  • Ja echt he! waar is de tijd :-)

  • In belgium we used to have a dutch version. It was great! They should broadcast it again.

  • for a kids show this was very bleak but it got it's message across, kids of today have dora the explorer FFFFFFUUUUU

  • i hav finaly found the masterpiece of childhood times *sniffs* meeeemorrieees

  • Oh shivers up my spine lol memories....

  • I remember crying when the hedgehogs died on the motorway, lol.

  • I remember watching this when I was a little girl. I used to wake up at 6 or 7 in the morning to watch this show and then watch Dick and Dom in the Bungalow. Ah those were the times! Though, they should re-play these shows since the younger generation won't be helping at all and will just get rid of the animals in a park. I'm reading the book again and I'm soooo going to watch this again XD

  • I've never loved a show like I loved this when I was a kid! Those were the times!

  • I used to run home from school to watch this!

  • greatest intro ever

  • omg the memories that theme tune brought back ahhhhh!!

  • use to watch this after school everyday hehe

  • Grævling og muldvarp!!

  • how i used to h8 that fucking weasel

  • The whimsical music is misleading. This was one sick show. :)

  • @Jolinare I still remember the three mousebabies that was killed and hanging from the thorns with blood dripping.

  • most traumatising show in childrens' television history.

  • One of my favourite shows as a kid... rewatching all the episodes I can find lol :D

It was dramatic at times though, cut the crap when it came to animals getting hurt or killed lol

  • Wonderful animation.

  • Oh sweet jesus I used to watch this like it was a religion! It was fantastic. Do I remember this as a few animals actually died in this programme? I seem to remember crying a lot haha!!!!

  • @ADMediaEmpire I know the Pheasant ended up in a pie and I think the hedgehog met an untimely end with a truck. And I dont remember it being plain sailing when they actually got to this other wood they were trying to reach. I blame the bloody toad.

  • @ADMediaEmpire I think it was more than a few

  • @ADMediaEmpire i'm still haunted about when they crossed the motoway and the hedgihogs died...still haunted like over 10 years on it's a haunting program

  • @HyperActiveSkittles Me and my two boy's used to love this show and i can still remember the heartbreak we felt when the Hedgehog's got killed!

  • @zearg93 ROFL

  • Omg i used to wank to this at my grandmothers house!

  • Din jävla idiot XD Du runkade inte hos din mormor, du runkade på din mormor.

  • @tobiaskiba xD

  • OMG!! I used to watch this at my grandmothers house when I was a kid :O

  • fuck oath bro, miss the good ol' days...

  • Best show ever used toi watch it all the time. relil upset when some of them got hurt though. they should defo put this back on tv

  • This was a classic. One of the best children's television shows of it's time. I think they should replay it.

Also - another great kids show was that one with the stop-motion animated mice. I can't remember what it was called, but the mice lived in a tree . . .

  • how i used to hate that fuckin weasel

  • I am brazilian and I'm looking for a english subtitles because I will translate to my language. Many peoples want it. Can anyone help me to find the english subs of the third season?

  • Gads, this takes me back...

  • Omg

I Remember This. I Used To Cry When The Animals Got Hurt. My Mum Sez It Was One Of The Saddest Kids Programs. x

  • ohmygod, i used to watch this all the time when i was just a kid. they translated it to dutch. loveit!

  • This was a classic of its time. They should restore it and show it again. Not do a new one though cos this one was just perfect!

  • This show was awesome!

  • OMG, I remember I used to love this show when I was like 5 or 6, now I'm 20 :) Though this show was scary sometimes

  • That was good show. Kids shows today are... do I say where?

  • I read "Animals of farting wood" at least 3 times. I must be consciously and subconsciously childish.

  • i used to love watching this when i was younger

  • @wolverine1865

    You no longer do? :O

  • the bbc should re master this stuff and play it to our current generation, it might do a lot of good rather than the crap they now produce such programs have a massive impact on developing young minds, im thankful i had quality programming when i was a child, written by people who cared about wat they were doing and saw it more than just dumb downed programming. it doesn't sound important but my life long moral fibre started and will always be heavily influenced by the stories i heard growing up

  • @MajorThumper So true. Back in 94 - when i was little we had quality, nowadays we only have hannah montana and special agent oso. It cinda makes me sad. Indeed its sad.

  • @MajorThumper Truer words were never spoken. I found my old videos of this in the back of the cupboard over christmas, and I suddenly find myself grinning like a loon as I watch the journey once more, captivated by the perils and comraderie between all the characters.

This show is as great as I remember it.

  • Comment removed

  • @MajorThumper

i whole heatedly agree. so many of these older cartoons from the 80's and 90's actually MEANT something. alot of them were environmental and if they weren't they were good fun for parents and kids-none of this teletubbies and boobah nonsense...

  • @MajorThumper Good man. Good man. I too had these programs, and most of my generation that watched these have grown up to be mature people. I see the latest generation who watch crap that is now being spawned out, and realise how badly it has effected our younger generation. Just look at japan, they treat their children as adults, their 'cartoons' hold deep moral values quite often and can be violent, have sex, romance, etc. ours? Bright pink dinosaurs hopping around and giggling at nothing.

  • @MajorThumper TOTALLY agree!
