I was there, too. I remembered being worried about Paul hitting the final high note, but he went into this angelic falsetto on that last bit that was heart wrenching. I wouldn't be veggie if not for Paul. In a culture where it's seen as "unmanly," Paul serves as a quiet iconic example. He was accused of being "nutty" for his vegetarian views, and yet quietly he stated his points.

Something is amiss. I have a copy of this video. Paul starts to lose it for real at the end. His voice breaks up with emotion and the last 1/4 of the song is Paul barely making it through vocally. He then apologizes with saying that he gets choked up, or something sometimes when he sings this song.

Whatever the case, it's one of the most beautiful songs Paul has ever written.

@ahafan64 That is true, but the Lennon / McCartney partnership was like a "marriage" of two geniuses, and there was a terrible "divorce" which McCartney did his best to prevent. Like many a divorce there was much bitterness, but that did not change tthe fact they were very close for many years and thankfully they did make it up before John died. They shared something truly unique, which the world can still enjoy 40+ years on.
