  • tHE ONLY TIME i NEED ELECTRICITY IS FOR REPLYING TO YOUTUBE COMMENTS AND CHARGING MY IPAD. oTHER THAN THAT, I AM NOT DEPENDENT ON ELECTRICITY.

  • China will change so much WITHIN MY LIFE TIME AND I'M 13 ALREADY!!!

  • China is the Longest Living Empire in History...

  • china the best communist in the word.

u are jealouse bcz china communist is so rich and powerful.

us will need more dollars from china to buy hotdogs

  • I hate nationalism spreading all over my land.

  • I think there are two important points behind this also. 1. China has used more resources and fouled more resources - but supplies themselves and other countries aggressivley to reap economic benefits and a worldwide market share unreachable by the U.S. (U.S. cars clothes, PC's r 'madeinchina' not viceversa) 2. They are admitting to it and embracing new technologies. In short, whenever it is that you and I get solar panels given to us from the government, they will probably be MADE IN CHINA.

  • lol, not about solar panels and solar power though. Do some research, and you will find that that are loads of chinese solar panel producing companies, they have all been around for some times and they supplies a huge chunk of the solar panels sold everywhere in the world. Except most of these products were exported. Now they are turning domestic because of foreign demand drop. And beside china had a larger use of solar heating than any other country in the world.

  • It would be great if everyone would focus on solar and wind and water energy. From another aspect, it is Interesting that the narrator calls them "a sleepy village" - I am sure they work as hard or harder, and live as intensely, as anywhere else. It is a dangerous kind of cultural error made by the "modern" world to imply that everyone who is not yet "developed" should live like most people (not all) do in the US or Europe.

  • Dragon woke up now! our economic, our power, our people woke up once again, we will lead the peace to the human being, after 20 years China will be the central of the world, all the people will enjoy the peaceful life in China by its 5000 years culture.

  • did you sleep through your primary shcool history class, China had the most advanced tech and higghest gdp output for centuries b4 your contury was even put together.

  • May China continue to come up with new technologies to contribute to better environment and saving energy. Long live China.

  • "Better environment" like the algae in the polluted sea or like the the huge polluion in the yellow river?

  • May China continue to come up with new technologies to contribute to better environment and saving energy. Long live China.

  • Unfortunately we simply do not have the time to argue about what is fair and right. Pollution reduction needs to happen now. The world & not just china nees to act & act now

  • lithium batteries last much longer, are completely recyleable, and relatively non toxic. it is the future with some improvements.

  • ur disgusting

  • Chinese rural communities ?? they are pakistan live in the border of pakistan and china!

  • the Solar energy is Booming in China, the Chinese parliament pledging to use renewable energy resources for 10 percent of Chinas energy consumption by 2020. The new law includes details on the purchase and use of solar photovoltaics(PV), solar water heating, and renewable energy fuels.

China is booming consider from many aspects.China it was NOT like before, the whole World can see that!

  • Solar energy is Booming in China,China pledging to use renewable energy resources for 10 percent of Chinas energy consumption by 2020.The new law includes details on the purchase and use of solar photovoltaics(PV), solar water heating, and renewable energy fuels.

China is always learning from the history mistake, that's Why the whole Country is Booming!

  • Solar energy is best but USA will never support it coz all the senators are somehow related with oil business including president bush(killer of civilization and USA) and vice president dick(real dick). They dont want solar energy come forward otherwise they and their party will loose money.ah ha. no way they will let it happen.Bad luck that USA got such a president.

  • But then the West aren't more intelligent either. The coal industry is paying candiates to say the slogan 'clean coal' and the US public are swallowing it like it's gospel. Clean coal is like saying clean nuclear waste. The West won't invest in clean sources of enegy because they're too lazy and greedy, the Chinese are no different. They'd rather dig up coal and get Mercury poisoning rather than invest in win but then so would the USA. There is an Al Jazeera clip about this.

  • "the west, too lazy or too greedy" Don't use words like that, if you want to be seen as intelligent than use actual logic. Clean coal as you said is simply a very powerful lobby and thus it gets a lot of support. Powerful interests tend to get their way, here or in China.

  • Nicely said Renegen1, now let's look at Japan where they're building the worlds first Hydrogen fueled powerplant. There is no excuse for anyone not to switch over to water other than the oil firms not wanting to lose their power and people being too LAZY, stupid and lethargic to care until the world is a desert. It is laziness and it is greed.

  • idiot

  • China is not a democracy and their government doesn't have to worry about lobbyists and stupid, uninformed voters.

  • you're saying the Chinese people are too stupid to vote for whatever you think is right?

  • no, the chinese people are smart enough to know that democracy is a bad idea. and they're not so self-obsessed that they feel the need to direct every little thing.

  • I don't see your logic. I believe that my opinion should be counted somehow. Having unelected officials to have a direct influence to my life doesn't sound so good to me.

    Does it to you?

  • @uniterscron It doesn't, but that's the whole point. A government that can only make decisions everybody's happy with can seldom make long-term decisions that require a lot of pain in the short term. Besides, it's a lot worse than a dictatorship. With a media owned and controlled by people with political interests that form their own consortium. At least in a dictatorship, you know you are not free. Unlike a 'democracy' where you have the illusion of freedom, when in fact, it's the opposite.

  • AS IF democracy is the direction of every little thing in the hands

Chinese are not stupid, only their leaders are, that's a fact, and against facts there's no arguments.

  • Not true. Lobbyists are a huge part of the communist party. I even knew one of them who owns restaurants and hotels around Beijing.

  • @somethingawful01 China is committed to spending $400 billion on green technology in the next 5 years alone. Many US green tech companies are now packing up for China, spurred by a great deal of incentives. About coal, both China and the US have huge reserves of coal and it still is and will continue to be, the primary source of fuel into the near future. At least China is making an effort at making it cleaner, they're already scrubing off 44% of the carbon emission from coal in a cheap way.

  • Solar power is limitless but unless someone invent better batteries to store energy to use at night it is not that useful. The same applies for wind power. The wind goes out what do you do? I just hope environmentalist can understand that before pressuring the 3rd world to give up on oil and coal. Rich Western nations can barely afford such technology how can you expect the 3rd world to do so; especially when its cheaper for the Africans to use their oil and other polluting energy sources.

  • If you want them to use environmentally friendly sources of power please give them some money and spare the lecture. The West polluted the world for centuries. And also understand that renewable technology like solar and winds etc. are not fully yet able to support large industries.

  • We don't have the time to argue over what's fair. The maximum reduction in pollution is needed now. The West needs to take much more action as does China.

  • I fully agree with n14e5o15. There is no time to argue as to who has the right to pollute and who doesn't. Also if you go to China you will see the extent of the damage corruption has done to the environment. 75% Of rivers so severely polluted that even swimming in the water is dangerous. The incredible thick smog, the eternally white sky and the stench in cities is proof that China does need to act because the pollution is totally out of hand.

  • That stench could be a thousand year old. Not everything is the result of industrial revolution.

  • nuclear is 12cents per kwh

  • i wonder who much it cost to buy the small solar power.

  • 20cents per 1kwh

  • What about the batteries that store the solar power? How long do they last and how much do they cost?

  • Why does it matter? The government is providing it.

  • well everyone seems to think solar power is a "clean" energy. but it actually generates tons of battery waste.. im sure china/pakistan doesnt have very good recycling programs.

  • solar energy is clean we just need to make biodegradable batteries that hold more than 24 hours energy and keep recharging it self off of its own energy at night and daytime draw enough energy to boost energy and not pull of energy from days before.

  • all batteries eventually wear out. also the manufacturing process for batteries produces toxic waste anyways.

  • so as we know that there are many ways to improve on that! stop spending so much to float in space and get our ecosystems serviced the way it needs to be! i blame nasa!

  • yeah and what about confress getting raises every two years and the ridiculous spending they do? The extras they get just tomsit on their rumps and vote no to healthcare and yes to saving the malignant tree in the underground of the forest of nowhere

  • Why don't you hold you breath until the perfect technology comes along?

  • I tried but I passed out.

  • "Chinese Empire" lol

  • How can China have solar power but the U.S doesnt!!! Pisses me off!!!!

  • Authoritarian regime.

  • china has had the highest economy for a few years a lot more than america so they have the money for it plus they said they started to make more panels due to the dropping price of panels

  • @MCDB91390 That's what happen when you spend your money propping up 200 military bases world wide instead of the economy. The US government is broke now so they can't support the capital-intensive green tech sector which is packing up for China since China gives plenty of cheap loans, tax breaks, reimbursement on operating costs for the first few years, generous land lease and a huge and willing market. No prolonged wars in history ever benefits a country.

  • @MCDB91390 pretty simple, those distances are so far away from civilization, it is much cheaper to give them solar instead of trying to develop a power grid, plus most us homes consume way too much electricity(ridge, computers, tv etc) than what a small little solar panel can supply

  • you people mage me sick

  • They made me laugh.

  • "MAGE me sick" what are we playing World Of Warcraft or something? lolololololol

  • There are still many communities in China live in very poor condition, mostly in remote mountain areas or in desert.
