this song used to be famous around my teenage circle 'cause the cymbals we used to say "fck those cymbals must be a ten ton cymbals" but my friend,if u only hear this here>>>>>^ u will never listen to the real sound that this have
also check out Fingding my way,Tom Sawyer,Lake side park,Working Man, Jacobs Ladder Baz dose RUSH Justice... He Even had Getty on the GG show with him
I've loved this version ever since I was a kid, but Lifeson's guitar just sounds thicker imho. Rutsey's drums sounded heavier too, but then again, almost all drums in the 70's sounded heavier to me.
The overuse of pinch harmonics annoy me. That's what is great about Alex Lifeson, he takes harmonics and instead of making them sound like metal shit he makes them sound fucking brilliant.
@Knukleheada no he did not, but steveman27 did. he said he had only heard what your doing and judged neil peart based on that song. a song he did not play on.
@Steveman27 Are you kidding me? You're not qualified to judge a drummer's talent let along to base your judgement on one song alone. What's incompable talent? Neal Peart is simply the best drummer ever. Sorry.
Great cover! I am a 30+ year RUSH fan. What You're Doing is just-about my favorite song of all time. This is a great cover. They captured the best of both John Rutsey's and Neil Peart;s take on drums plus the ballsy guitars and vocals. Bravo!
@jrmckeel I may have never heard much of Rush and I may have heard just that one song "What You're Doing" by Rush after discovering this album by Skid Row, but why did Snake Sabo really have to tell me he thought Neil Peart had incompable talent? I think he's underrating Rob Affuso just a little because I've heard both What You're Doings by Skid Row and Rush and Rob sounds as good as the drummer Neil Peart. I've heard many Skid Row songs and Rob was a great drummer in that band.
Was Joan Jett in Skid Row? I`m trying to figure out which one she is? Regardless, Skid Row are one hella group of sexy ladies. I like this song, it`s like Led Zeppelin but less interesting. I do hope they get their tits out for the boys. My favorite is Dave (what a strange name for a girl). I think she`s got lovely eyebrows but a strange nose only a boxer`s mother could love. What a whacky bunch of girls they are. I don`t like Scott much, she looks like a ladyboy? Hope they haven`t got worms?
Oh so that's who Sebastian Bach is... I saw him in Rush's new documentary and I had no idea who he was. For all the other people they interviewed, they put their band's name, but not him. He's a weird fella...
@trenken Yeah, my wife is tone deaf enough to think this beats the quality of Rush. I'm a Rush and Maiden fan while she is a ratt and poison fan, not a big surprise eh ?
@jacobclark101 Thats dumb, of course a cover can be better then the original. See: Johnny Cash's Hurt. It makes NINs version seem like a weepy goth kids scribbled poetry.
@Zeppelinfan25 skid row are better than rush try to play rush-what yu're doing riffs and try to play skid row- what are you doing(cover)...riffs are diferent is harder to play skid row version
This is from Skid Row's B side our selves,Baz has done 2 Rush Tribute CD's since then where he did Working Man & Jacobs Ladder & another where he coverd Tom Sawyer & Lake Side Park.
