" Survival presents problems we don't know before hand what they are." Vanessa Redgrave
A shock too often too painful to suffer we bridge with magical thought A to point B. The gift of magical thinking takes all paths, light and dark and all in between. I'd like to see a movie of this play..."A year Of Magical Thinking." There's some excellent scenes depicting the use of magical thought in the film "Precious" Executive producer...Oprah Winfrey.
So shocking that like her character in "The Year of Magical Thinking" that she would actually go through the loss of her own daughter in real life. I can't even begin to imagine the pain that Vanessa and the rest of the Redgrave and Neeson families are going throught right now.
This is a magnificent piece of theater that will soon be closing in New York. Vanessa Redgrave's performance is incredible. See it before its too late.
My friend saw TYOMT on Wednesday evening, April 4, '07, and found Vanessa Redgrave sublime and the play entirely gripping, moving, piercingly affecting her. She said it was worth every penny of the $96 she paid for an orchestra seat.

I saw MS. Redgrave "live" for the first time on 6/30/07 at a matinee and was so blown away.
The play takes you on a roller coaster ride that keeps you in suspense even though you know what happens. That's why Redgrave is so awesome.

I saw the play on 8/3 (after having read the extraordiary book) and was moved to tears by the performance of Miss Redgrave.
