  • I read the differences were in the s470 and s570 are that the s570 is a tad lighter. I know that some s470's have 24 frets so i don't think thats the only change.

  • Why do people post videos with this kinda sound? When it's all about the sound. Gosh!

  • what kind of strings should i use for this guitar

  • @jamoncillo3202 any decent name brand strings are good. they all work. ernie ball, ghs, gibson, fender, labella,dr,daddario

  • I have an S570 also, in grey smokey finish.

  • I need a whammy for this and cant find one since its discontinued

  • S-series used to be great before Ibanez fucked it up equipping every one of them with that ZR-tremolo system. It feels unnatural...doesnt keep tune any better than the Edge Pro.

  • I ordered a S570DXQM and it will be here tomorrow.

What you you think of your 470? Are you happy with it? Pickups? Trem? Playability? etc.etc.

  • @Grant2676

I hve a 470, and I have to say I've never been happier with a guitar. It's only 22 frets but it's still an amazing guitar. Pickups are not that special, changed neckpickup, but it still sounds great. Trem is great, playability is 10/10, very comfortable, very light, you made a good choice (since it's just a 470 with 24 frets anyway

  • what the hell is up with the reverb? WAYYY to much

  • @dreamtheaterisbeast man i must give you credits really - thnx a lot i allready order my dimarzio :) thnx a lot

  • @dreamtheaterisbeast nice - thnx man ill check on it

  • whats the difference between the s470 ans s570?

  • @TnTMusic64 i think the s570 has 24 frets the s470 has 22

  • @TnTMusic64 The new S570 is replacing the S470 and has 24 frets (standard on all S series guitars now). The old S570 was a Japanese-made model with 22 frets and an original Edge bridge but that was discontinued.

  • @TnTMusic64 the s570 is the new version, they don't produce the s470 anymore. and it has 24 frets, plus different fret markings.

  • did you change the pickups? through what amp are you playing?

  • @MrLU2000 added a dimarzio steve vai evolution bridge pickup other pickups are stock. was using a line 6 spider 2 head insane green channel on that vid

  • iam in a dillema - can u explain something to me ?? i own 1 of those s470's and my question is this - i want to have a better more "fat" sound - whould you recomend me to change the pickups to GFS Power Rails ?? or keep the stock ones and try to mod them to 18volts battery ?? what whould be the best to do ?? + are the stock pups better than the GFS Power Rails ?? thnx and great talent :))

  • how's the guitar I trying to buy one?? what are the pros and cons!! thanks

  • hey, I'm planning to get this guitar..What do you think about the ZPS at the back? did you take it off? they said it has the tendency to brake the tremolo armbar overtime..

  • Hey man, does it stay in tune very well with tremolo usage? Thanks.

  • @Clipster15 yeah the zr trem is a good trem. it stays in tune fine

  • Wow that was good as

  • I have that guitar with its stock pickups, what should i change the pickups to u think?

  • @Frez121212 It just depends on what you like. Just listen to a few demos for brands you know of. I have the S470 and i switched the pickups for the DiMarzio Liquifire and Crunch Lab. Just look something up that you think you might like.

  • 1:02 sounds so fimiliar but i cant get it.... dimmu borgir?

  • @Rhaabjorn um part of paganini 5th caprice played sloppily lol

  • I own the yellow version of this fiddle and it kick ass.....and it doesn't lack tone at all. I changed out the bridge pickup for a DiMarzio Steve Special pick up and just recently changed them both out for EMG's...the Zakk Wylde set, which had to be modded a bit but sounds fantastic. The single coil in the middle has been bypassed so it doesn't work at all and is ther to fill the gap.

  • sounds good man! i wanna get one of these for sure!

  • nice playing :D

  • i have a question. i know those guitars have kinda thin bodies, are they kinda breakable

  • dude i love that guitar nice playing too

  • hows the ZR bridge? and how are the pickups because ive ordered a S420 which is essentially the same thing haha

  • @thelilEmoBoy the ZR tremolo is the best I have seen on any guitar. Ultra-smooth and flawlessly made.

  • sweet! i always heard it was a good piece of machinery :D what about the pickups? what are they like?

  • I own an Ibanez s470 in black...

The middle pickup is weak, but the two humbuckers arn't bad.

    Stays in tune for MONTHS!

I wouldn't recommend this guitar unless you are an advanced player however, it seriously lacks tone (undistorted) and it's a bitch to tune when you want to change the tuning. (This was the first guitar i ever got and I now know that I would have much rather an epiphone les paul custom.)

  • can someone please tell me why there are no videos of the new "S570"

  • yeah, i wanna know something more about the new s570 too...

  • i cant believe theres no videos and no reviews on the whole of the internet, well i cant find any anyway

  • @darklord5757

well it was just released so dont be surprised if there is no reviews or videos.

also the s470 and s570 is the same thing except that the s570 has 24 frets and the s470 has 22 frets. everything else is same.

  • The S570 is almost same, just 24 frets like they say,,, im getting a S420 soon, instead of 320... practically the same, just diffrence of 2 frets en minor improvements..

  • S470 = S570 dumbass. View the specs.

Only difference is the S570 has a longer fretboard (24frets)

  • @darklord5757 i think because its damn expensive

  • @darklord5757 There is 1, but you have to add the dxqm to get it

  • @darklord5757 check out all my s470 videos ..

  • can u get a rely heavy sound on this?

  • You sure can, and the plus side is that the sweeping is so smooth and tapping scales are so clear, the inferno pickups (stock standard) really do the job well

  • dude check out my video on th S470.

    Lamb of god cover.

  • how much of a pain in the ass to change the strings on that thing is it?

  • @wykleg not really that hard, loosen the string, clip at top, unscerew the nut on the tuning bar at top, and pull trhough, and out the bottom : D

  • its not that bad really if you know what ur doing, its annoying but after a few times you wont mind so much

  • I really hate the jumbo frets on it...

  • how heavy is this guitar

  • it's not that heavy because it's super thin. that's what makes the s series so unique

  • @m0j0101 it means people with week aerms like me can lift it, unlike my SG.....

  • not heavy at all. its really light

  • what effects do you use. ?

  • did i hear some crossroads guitar duel in there? (:

  • does the thickness and resonance of an electric guitar affect the sound comming out of the amp much?

  • whats the neck like on this guitar ??

  • flat&thin!!

  • thanx.

  • Comment removed

  • How much did you spend on the pick up?

  • @deathmetal44 ignore that guy, you're really quite good - your sweep picking is tight and you play well :D

  • @deathmetal44 dont worry men your great!!! how much did it cost you anyway ??

  • i got one of these new at a pawn shop for $239

  • Nice! Stock pickups?

  • bridge pickup is dimarzio evolutiuon. neck and middle are stock

  • hi, I would like to know if those are the stock pich ups please or did u change them? how is the clean sound?

    thanx

  • bridge pickup is dimarzio evolutiuon. neck and middle are stock

  • A few days ago tried JS100 (123€) / S470(440€) and JS1000 (+/- 1000€)

JS100 : sound so so and out of tune after tremo

S470 : Sound good for JS style and tremo very good. (was lastest model of S470 and I believe with new model of tremo)

JS1000 : Also good sound but did not stay in tune after unsing the tremo.

S470 en JS1000 looks same for the rest.

    So I guess I don't need the "J".

  • i guess that your pretty stupid.

the js models is complty different from the rest of everything that ibanez makes.

they got the satriani neck, pups and the tremolo is a edge-pro which in my opinion is better than the zr but i understand that you didnt like the js100 cause they really suck but you cant even compare the js1000 to a s470 cause js1000 is a prestige model and s470 standard!!

  • Did you buy a JS1000 ? Then you payed too much which is stupid. It's aready ZR-7. Maybe you played on ZR-1 or you don't hear when a guitar is out of tune ? :D.

I just told what I heard. Out of tune is out of tune. And it's no fun to play on such "instrument", if you can still call it one.

Mine has a floyd. My ears are too good for Ibanez. :D

  • dimebag/john christ/criss oliva squeels and some zakk wylde sqeals

  • Some one learned Dime Bags squeels.

  • one of the best guitars out ther i own one but its a sky blue finish i absolutely love it

    nd its cheap also

  • pentatonic minor, natural minor, major, cromatic, harmonic minor.

  • never played the js100 sorry. looks nice though.

  • great sound! lovin the bita eugines trick bag! have you ever played the js100? how would you compare it to this? whats the neck like. never played one. lookin at rgs, but their necks are flat. thats ok sometimes. prefer it round

  • good playing man. i love the s470's i have the viking red one. well....had.....i had to sell it. but at least i got a vid up with it.

    kick ass video dude!

  • i ordered the red viking. is it good?

  • yeah its badass. ive had it like 6 months and its still badass. im happy with it.

  • yeahh,,

    but fernandes sustainer is better

  • Hey man, really nice playing ;) I was thinking of getting this guitar but after his video there is no question about it. Can't wait ;)

  • ive got duncans in mine and its sounds good

  • Are the strings close to the higher frets?

  • These guitars have the lowest actions on the planet. Plays like butter.

  • Hi, nice solo!!, Does someone know how much that guitar is worth? i have one just like it and want to sell it so, have'nt played for years and i would'nt know the value of it.

  • around $600

  • Are those pickups good for metal? Metallica and stuff?

  • possibly the best of their kind (passive pickups) ... other kind are active pickups ...they sound better but need batteries

  • good, thanks, i always wanted a pickup with a nice clear sound even while distorted to metal, and a good sustain, this one looks to suit my needs.

  • the duncans will probly sound fine in it. i dont like the jb though. i take it out of all the guitars i get with em in it. my jacksons came with them. some people like them alot though. they arent the sound for me. i like the 59 as a neck pickup though. dont get me wrong the jb is a good pickup. try some guitars with them in it.

  • Have you ever used the Duncan DIstortion? I'm curious about that pickup.

  • I got an S470dx in Black lava finish, which looks really badass, but the stock Powersound pickups are lame as hell! Do you think a SD JB in the bridge and a '59 in the neck would sound good on this kind of guitar?

  • which one would you choose, the s470 or the rg350ex/dx?

  • my nephew recently got a rg350/dx in white. its a real cool guitar too! both are good, if you want 24 frets go with the RG if your cool with 22 go with the S

  • volume and tone. maybe they are both hooked up for volume. do you like the way it sounds like this? if it is hooked only to volume and you like the sound keep it that way. having it hooked up for volume and tone will remove some treble from the guitars tone. ive had guitars with no tone knob and they sounded fine...i do use my tone knob a good bit though.

  • I have just bought one of these guitars. What are the two knobs supposed to do???

Both of mine control the volume!!!!!!!!!

Can't contact dealer until Monday :o(

  • i put dimarzio evolution in the bridge position. the rest are stock infiniti's

  • thanks a lot ;)

  • they are not the original pickups?

i have the same guitar but the sound is not the same inf1 inf2 and infs1

i love the guitar but its pickups

  • He's using a dimarzio evolution. I've put the same one in my S470, quite an improvement. Google for dimarzio-evolution-pickups-in-ibanez-s470 to find my blogpost about it. ;)

  • i luv this guitar :D

  • how much it cost? is a great guitar

  • about 650 at GC, but don't buy it online, there's occationally some quality control issue with these ones

  • in spain the cost of the s470 is arround 446€

  • i like how you play :)

  • hey man i have the same guitar, nice video BTW , do you like this guitar?

  • yep i like this guitar alot

  • didn't Brad Nowell of Sublime play this guitar?

  • Yeah

My favorite musician of all time : )

  • yo i seriously need help now...im low on cash and i dont wanna take this guitar to the store...my b string just broke and i have the strings but idk how to string it...help plz???

  • You have the cut the the ball end off anfd insert he string tip into the slot. There is a locking screw for each string. Make sure to change one string at a time and that they are the same gauge as your original strings, otherwise your guitar will be out of tune fretted up he neck. Hope this helps.

  • zr tremolo huh

  • yeah its the zr

  • I've not heard much about ZRs reputation-wise. Are they reliable? I'm looking for my first guitar with a locking trem and so far all I can surmise is that I should avoid Edge Pro IIs and IIIs. lol - nice playing mate.

  • zero resitance brigde is BOMB get it and ull be able to stay in tune and DROP DIVE BOMBS

  • hey dude i'm back and i finally got that guitar! your right! it's amazing! but cooincidently, i also wanted dimarzio evolution pickups too...where did you get your pickups cuz i can't find any single coil evolutions

  • dude where did you get this? I can tell it's the blue moon burst model and I've been trying to find it for ages, and I ain't going to barnet anytime soon

  • i got mine at sam ash but lucky for me, it was the last blue one there...theres no price diference but they make less of the blue and more red b/c of the expensive blue paint...i also went to guitar center...they said that they can order it for you and ship it to your house in a week...but u have to chek if they have the blue in stock or else u have to get red or wate

  • dude you're lucky. i am saving up for this guitar.

  • amazing dude!!! ima get that guitar soon...i tried it out at this sam ash store and i wanted 2 no ur opinion in this guitar

  • its badass
