I think it's either at this one in 1977 or in 1978 after their live album Bursting at the Seams came out in 1978.That was at the old Aud too. And like some previous poster mentioned I was so stoned back then to remember only half of that show .
Your right it is a great performance, I think this was more the norm. I remember thinking that the 77 BBC show was very restrained. But it's such good quality that it's widely accepted as a normal Tull show nowadays.
If this is 8mm wheres the audio from? If it is you did a suburb job syncing it!
jeepers creepers they was going crazy fer 'em back then! '77 was the command performance year I feel and so this clip rules. Lots of credit to the band and Ian for keeping it on so well all these years and a fine amount of very very special music, even to us GEN X Tull fanz
Ian is the hardest working man in rock music touring show biz! Now going out for the 40th year.He will be known as the greatest live performer of all time in rock music!
I agree - Ian is the quintessential stage performer of the last 40 years. It's tough to think of anyone who comes close since he has been doing it so long, so well, and in so many different styles. Some day, people will fully appreciate him. Long live the Master!!
I'll try and post it on YouTube once I get it digitally enhanced. I can probably make the images stand out more if I add contrast and make it sharper.
It's the only known synch-sound, pro-shot footage of Tull during the Jeffrey Hammond years (1971-1975).

haha, wow. My Mother was at this show.
I love Jethro Tull. Unfortunately, I was negative eight when this show took place, being born in '85. sucks for me.

Nice find TullTapes.
We can always count on you.
Do you have the LIVE pro-shot, synch-sound June 1975 performance of the song "Minstrel in the Gallery"?
(Tail end of the WARCHILD tour.)
This is NOT the mimed "Minstrel" segment.
It opens with Ian talking to the audience about a new song the band just recorded (Minstrel). Then he plays the opening acoustic segment of the song.

Yes, I have it... but the quality isn't good.
I want to have it enhanced digitally.
I was hoping TullTapes might have a better copy than I do.

That would be a dream come true if that happened. Thanks!
