You should do your homework better, the avars are Oghur-Turkic which also is indicated from the language which is reffered to Avar Turkic. The only reason why anyone from russia would say that Avars are not Turkic would be because of the russian policy to differentiate the Turkic people from that catagory so that they should not feel any relations to the Turks and rather be loyal to russia. russia has altered their language their righting system and almost their religion(in some part).
