Some people seem not to understand. I will say it again: Europeans, (up till 1945), never believed in biuilding huge prisons. Felons were put promptly to death after conviction. How does rate being called "Bullshit" ? ? ?
Moja babcia przeżyła tan koszmar, ale bardzo podupadła na zdrowiu.Urodziła w obozie córkę, którą odebrali jej Niemcy, odnalazła się dopiero w 2008r.Mój tata ma wreszcie siostrę!!!!
There is NO society that does not contain these type of people who, without pity or remorse, will eagerly round up and dispose of their fellow men at the behest of some modern demagogue.
@ironhorzmn American need to realize that Europe never had huge, overcrouded prisons like the USA does. Criminals were put to death, plain and simple. This includs in Merry Old England. The USA has the most violent crime of any society in all human history. Their ever increasing prison population is a scandal without example in human history. It is far better to be put to death than be put into one of these prisons.
@Avalon400 Bullshit. Germany had dozens of concentration camps and murdered millions of Jews, gypsies, communists and others they considered 'untermenschen'.
The USSR had a network of gulags from Siberia to Sevastopol and murdered over 20 million.
The PRC operates vast numbers of prisons and historically has murdered some 60+ million Chinese.
Cambodia, North Korea and Cuba BECAME prisons. Millions die in NK for no more reason than not crying hard enough at Kim Jung-Il's funeral.
@ironhorzmn 'Violent crime' also involves government assaults on its own people. Using that as a guide, it's clear that American prisons are resorts compared to other systems worldwide.
Other countries, such as Brazil and Russia, have violent crime rates far worse than America.
US crime rates are probably so high partly because of our willingness to put the guilty back on the street rather than violate their civil rights.
@ironhorzmn Some people seem not to understand. I will say it again: Europeans, (up till 1945), never believed in building and keeping huge prisons for undesirables. Felons were put promptly to death after conviction. How does rate being called "Bullshit" ? ? ?
@Avalon400 Answer this: How many "Untermenschen" has the USA killed, (including unarmed, innocent civilians), in all its wars in the last 100 years or so ? ? Starting with the massacre in Manila in 1902, through WW2 and Viet Nam, and right through to the present! ? ? ? The USA is most violent culture on the palnet. Period.
Women, who joined to be concentration camp guards had better pay, accomodations etc. Over 3,000 women chose this, although some were not told they would be guards but working in a relocation centre for refugees. But whatever, they chose to do this, as everyone has a choice in life. there were some decent guards but by far and large, to survive and advance, they had to be cruel and filled with hatred towards the prisoners! The guards that were nice did not last and were sent elsewhere...
I don't write this to justify anybody's choices - but I heard at the end of the war there were few men to be camp guards and women were rounded up, brought in a room and told to hit a prisoner - only one asked why, but she did it - only one refused and she was imprisoned in the camp. Another woman said, "why should I feel I was wrong - it was wrong that the camp was here, but I was not wrong - if I had refused to be a guard I would have been imprisoned myself."
What astonishes me the most is that they were not ashamed to do this to people. They were not ashamed to kill innocent children. They were just so evil and I feel sorry for those people. "Father, forgive them, for they know not what they are doing." Luke 23:34
@Dxternator lol no.!!! I'm like a teenager dude.!!! ;p I just have a strong faith. and the holocaust has always interested me because I am of Jewish descent
Eerie, surreal, and depressing. The Nazis could not have been human. The silence there is deafening. It's as though the land is blighted forever by what's happened there. That goes for all these camps people died in.
Mój Boże!!! Niech Bóg ma ich wszystkich w swojej opiece. Moja Babcia przeżyła ten obóz!!! Chylę czoła wszystkim poległym i zamordowanym!!! Nigdy więcej wojny!!!!!

The movie "The Hiding Place" is the story of Corrie ten Boom and her experience at Ravensbruck. Very powerful movie.

Even in America. ESPECIALLY in America.

@whatever1408 There is NO such thing as a "Jewish Race". To claim that there is, is a racist statement. Judeaism is a religion, not a race.
