  • Why no Audio?????

  • very interesting treatment but i wanna know if that "lump" in all Dupuytren's Contracture stay after the treatment, i mean if it desapear after rehab or something ?

  • ....I have the same question!

  • Is this treatment available in australia and if so where?

  • What did he inject it with to make it go away?

  • does anyone know of a doc near north louisiana that does this.i need my thumbs done.

  • @andy5eight In an internet search I found a place around Houston but went to Dr. Eaton in Jupiter Florida. My hands were worse than the ones in this video but now I can straighten my fingers, including my thumbs which I couldn't raise before. Some of my fingers were bent 135 degrees. My palms are now smooth, no lumps. Nothing is injected in this procedure. The doc is using the needle to cut the cords. It isn't painless but recovery is quick.

  • @SocTrangWarrior i had my pinky N/A released pretty good a couple months ago but now its bent again. the dr told me to try the enzyme on it.

  • @SocTrangWarrior thanks for the information i went ahead and had the regular surgery for triger thumb.my thumbs are okay now but since the surgery my other fingers have been hurting.its been over a month, but there getting better.i think the surgery somehow woke up my fibromyalgia.but im getting better.thanks.

  • @andy5eight Sorry to hear it. The only pain I have is from the physical therapy I do every day. That keeps the joints sore. Hopefully I won't have to do this much longer.

  • can this b done if the pinky is all the way to the palm?

  • I just had this procedure performed by Dr Kline in Boise. I can't express how happy I am to get the use of my left hand back! Full range of motion had been progressively inhibited for nearly 10 years and was restored In under 30 minutes. The procedure is completely pain free and as you can see from the video, the Doc. is a really great guy. I needed to fly in from out of state and I'll do it again in a heart beat if the contracture in my right hand progresses significantly. Thanks

  • @bobquale where is this doctor?

  • An orthopedic surgeon performed the excruciatingly painful surgery for the same condition on me in 2006. While my little finger clearly was in need of repair also, he declined to fix it at the same time, assuring that he would have another big dollar surgery to do. My result, following surgery and very painful, expensive, and time consuming physical therapy at the doctor owned PT clinic has not been what this doctor achieved in 20 minutes. No wonder our health care system is a mess.

  • This is amazing! Why are so many sawbones still pushing surgery when a less invasive alternative is available? Are they sadists?

  • Dr. Kline did this procedure on both of my hands, one of my fingers had a contracture worse than the guy in this video, and it is basically out flat now --- this is an amazing technique!! The worst part is the numbing shot. 'Just say no' to surgery!!!!!!!

  • what have we here, a disgruntled hand surgeon perhaps?

Dr. Kline has done over 3500 finger releases over the past FIVE years with this method, no problems. Are you saying if someone has a tendon rupture you would not repair it as you did not cause it?

Could it be that perhaps because a MERE non-hand surgeon is doing this, just *maybe* it exposes you hand surgeons for the greedy, elitist snobs that you are. He is doing this procedure BECAUSE YOU WON'T.

Kinda makes you look bad, don't it.

  • Very good posting... thanks.. I've got the DC in my right ring finger...about 30% Contracted.. Am with Kaiser and they do only the traditional Z Cut and sever the tendon... yuck.... I'm a sax player and that finger is crucial for playing. Also beginning to get arthritis in the right hand from using a roller ball mouse... this seems to be stressful on the right index finger.... so my right hand is suffering... Will go to Dr. Denkler or with referral from Kaiser to Dr. Benhaim at UCLA.

  • My mum is always so concerned over new procedures. But this looks a lot less painful and invasive than the surgeries she's endured to straighten her own contractures out. If I can find one when the time comes, I think I'll opt for a doctor who can do the needle aponeurotomy, as I would not have huge scars across my palm... (I'm guessing within ten years, I'll need it. I'm 27, and knew I've had this since I was 19.)

  • I had the same procedure performed by DR. Denkler..Marin County Ca..a year ago...really helped..but having a cyst re-occuring in the joint...all in all it really helped

  • Yes, although "cured" is an overstatement. He definitely reversed though, which is to say took it back in time to where it was not a problem and my hand could lay flat. Note that the doctor says I should come back for a second treatment -- I am doing that in late October. Would expect that to last for 3-5 years. Inexpensive and non-invasive and no trauma. It's cool!

  • Yes, reversed sounds more accurate. I have never heard of a cure, I thought that this was some fake "breakthrough".

  • The doctor cured Viking disease?

  • Wondering if anyone living in New Jersey, San Francisco & Minnesota, USA with Dupuytrens would be interested in participating in a 1 hour interview as part of an important research study regarding Dupuytren's disease. Purpose of the study is to find out how people are coping with it, their opinions regarding current treatments as well as possible future treatments. Each person will receive $150 cash for participation. It's confidential! Please call Winnie Lee, toll free #(877) 361-2517 Ex #209.

  • Omg.. I have the first signs of that my doctor said and that I may have to go into surgery when Im a bit older.. omg I dont want that :(

  • Trust me, it's better than having a "normal" surgery. Hope NA is appropriate for your case.

  • Boy, do I need to see this doctor. Great to be able to actually see the procedure before doing it. I'm so used to using 4 fingers on one hand and two on the other I'm not sure I'll know what to do. Wonderful.

  • does anybody have Dr. Kline's website handy? thx

  • Did you find Dr. Kline's web site??

  • I have to add one more thing..I am eternally gratefull for Dr. Eaton and Dr Kline and the others who are pioneering this procedure..

Thank You..Dr's.....for having the courage to go forward on this.......

    A Dups patient in Cal...

There are about 5 or 6 doctors in U.S. now doing this

  • Amazing! I just read where Dr. Kline has joined the 1000 club for NA procedures. I flew from California to Florida in early 2005 to have NA from Dr. Eaton. Even though my fingers are back to a 30 degree bend, I wouldn't hesitate to have it done again. This time I'd stay in California as Dr. Benheim in L.A. and Dr. Denkler in the Bay Area offer the procedure. I'll bet most of you are unaware that Frank Sinatra had dupuytren's and underwent the knife in the mid 50s.

  • Dr. Eaton is amazing....Did he ask you to call him Charlie?? He is a great person....Good luck to you....

  • Lets not forget Ronald Reagan

  • I have undergone this intervention twice in Paris, France. Does anyone know where it is available in UK?

  • See Harry the Hand.. on u tube

  • i had dr. kline do both hands, 5 fingers total. took about 35 "pokes" with the needle, but removed contactures in all but my worst finger(little), which is at about 15 degrees contracted, was at about 90. took about 3 weeks to fully heal. had it done on a thurs./fri. and was at work monday. dr. kline is great, in my experience, he's the best.

  • I had this procedure performed 2.5 years ago and am very happy with the result.

  • I'm in the early stages of this disease in one hand and I hope I can find an experienced NA doctor to help me with any affected fingers if I progress to contracture. This is an excellent informative video showing that there can be an alternative to open surgery.

  • Blatch332, Have you had a NA doctor look at your hand. They are finding that the degree of success has a lot to do with the extent that the contraction or nodules have grown. Better to get it look at sooner rather than later. Sandie

  • As soon as I get the smallest amount of contracture I will contact the only doctor I'm aware of in the UK who does NA but I'm thankfully not at that stage yet.

Is that what you mean (you can post on the forum, I'll see it there!)

  • Your reply is appreciated. Glad you liked the video. Thanks.

  • My husband had this procedure done by the same doctor. He is excited to have the use of his hand back, without cutting it open and long rehabilitation.

  • Wow, that's great! Dr. Klien was pretty cool about letting my wife film his work with our little Kodak digital camera. I only started seriously looking at options in May and found out about NA two weeks before the NY Times article came out. So lucky and so glad. Thanks for watching.
