  • How to become a Unix Web Shell Administrator in 4:34 minutes. Best documentation ever released on the Webnet. Those bored with porting pre-IPv7 enabled bgp routing software to 64-bit PDP11 systems should take a look at this earthshaking video. I give 6 stars.

  • Lol, that little retard has i-doser

  • it would be more convinient to write a tutorial instead of recording it. I once needed to learn a software package from video tutorials, it was such a pain: rewinding and fast forwanding and all other complications. Keep It Simple, Stupid!

    Anyway, why not!

  • go take comp science classes and come back to do videos... you little noob

  • I'd just use PuTTY and SSH into my boxes. No need to use a windows command shell. Or run linux inside a VMWare and ssh into it.

  • yo man we can just do all those shits you did without even having a user-account

  • Hang on here, is it just me or is this video completely misleading!? using CMD to use a Unix shell? The Amiga was Unix based, the MAC is now Unix based, Linux is Unix based but Windows has "never" been Unix based!? or is this kid just connecting to a Unix server via Windows?

  • Yeah he used telnet to connect to a remote server.

  • PICO no!!!!!

  • lol cmd, telnet? :-D Is "cmd" too stupid to use ssh? ;-) Throw Win away and install a linux to that machine.

BTW: a beginner don´t need ping, whois and so on. You must explain cd, ls, cp, and before this explain what linux is, the filesystem and so on. Do you understand what i mean?

  • lol telnet? haha. and yes ssh is a good choice but many idiots especially onyoutube have no clue how to use it its sad .

  • SoldierDDR:

You could throw windows away and install linux - you could however just do what i do and install PuTTY which is an ssh client.

  • I dont think anyone understands anything you say.

Thats why your sitting by yourself on your commputer commenting on this video.

  • @Nervejunktion : I mean he must explain the basics first. And not with the commandshell from win but with a real shell like sh, tcsh, or whatever.

Short: A good tutorial is beginning with the basics and after a few tuts growing up to the geek-stuff.

  • Indeed I agree.

Ignore my previous comment I am a jerk.

  • How to put the same color of the writing as him

  • In win xp. Leftklick one time at the icon at the left, on top of the cmd. And choose propeties.

  • color b

  • do a su -

and then rm -rf / xD

  • :)

    del C:\Windows\System32\hal.dll

will change the background color in black :)

  • Yes that's right XD

Just do it on your Computer and answer the Question with yes :)

  • omg he must be thick lol

  • So its just an old ass website.

  • telnet? Why didn't you just post your personal info on a random website instead? It's much easier...

  • LOL!

  • i dont get it ?? newb

  • @shiv86: It simply means that telnet is very insecure. SSH is very much more secure.

  • BTW....wtf am I supposed to use for telnet in vista? winRS? that thing sux.

  • SSH for instance, much better.

  • yep,

  • Its pronounced UNIX not Eunucs

  • Wow, lonestar is still online? There's a blast from the past

  • BRADY wat a shitty name

  • sss

  • good vid, very informative to someone like me who knows nothing.

  • putty?

  • Don't just punch him in the face, hit him repeatedly in the face with your fist.

  • LOL telnet? Administration without encryption? ...*no comment*

  • Again a script kiddy... omg peoples ure making vids about unix but ure using WINDOWS... get out of my sigh kid

  • COOL keep the ICMP packets coming

Look the guy is on his way in the forces of Unix

Keep it open-source. KEEP Going man you will have root one day

Keep it open-source AND FREE from a Man who has had root Before 1994 dont lessen to the lol on youtube.1 also I still uses Telnet. THE source is root

  • lol this dude cracks me up..using cmd via freakin windows to telnet to a unix box..haha.

who the hell still uses telnet?

  • Windows Server sysadmins still use telnet for text shell and RDP for GUI and some admins don't know, what text shell is ;-)

  • A sad bunch I must say...

  • wait, "unix web shell" using cmd? cmd isnt a unix! even though you are connected to a UNIX server and you're using cmd then you are using cmd, yes: cmd is compatible with unix but it ISNT unix

  • i dont belive i lost my time watching this, how justinram22 already say, go to linux dumb asses.

  • Oh no! he used telnet! someone is going to get his freeshell password and get crappy scores on ascii invaders in his name!

  • Hey, be careful or he just might ping you!

  • ok, how the hell is command prompt a "unix shell" and who the hell would be dumb enough to telnet anything, go for linux all you n00bs

  • good u stupid noob ur not even a script kiddie u fagit

  • otimo conteudo

  • What are you, stoned or stupid? You don't

telnet computers across the internets from your

house, you'll get nailed in the ass. Where

are your brains, in your ass? Don't you know

    anything?

  • lol you sound like a huge faggot. you never telnet to anything anyways, if you dont know why, then you're an idiot.

  • Yes you do.. lol... you connect to 'telnet servers'

  • Aren't you too old for this kind of comments?

(before you call me names: encryption)

  • passowrd?

  • this is the gayest fuckinfag shit ive' ever seen in my life ROFL at least run a 0day warez if ur gonna be gau emif tp rim sp, e;

  • ur a huge fag

  • This demo is great and is what I am looking for.

my question is, can I log on to your server as brady? If so, what password do I use?

  • how do i get my password

  • so what do you call WEB ?

  • use ssh or use nothing.

  • Never EVER use telnet to make connections to a server where logins or other confidential information is asked for from you. Telnet as said is insecure, and all transmissions are sent in clear text. In my opinion, any server that is running a telnet daemon is asking for trouble.

Good video to a certain extent, but next time use PuTTY, It's an SSH client for windows. It works with various Encryptions to protect your data transmissions.

  • Or never use windows...

  • I intended it for average users who have never heard of PuTTY

  • @bfob The same average users who happen to be using the most insecure OS still in use to this day -- Windows..... mmmm so technically its perfectly fine to use telnet on such a system as they are already insecure as it is... everyone already knows that their password is just "123[->]" anyhow so meh, the telnet connection just verifies it.

  • Bless

  • By the way, try to vi /etc/vfstab...

  • Solaris 10 for x86 is free, moron.

  • is this free that can be use and available for classroom discussion or hands on? thanks

  • Thanks, your account has been validated. Make a follow up with additional commands ;-)

  • State of the art, 1982! I love it.

  • cretin

  • jesus fuck. is that supposed to educate people?

first of all, you don't use plaintext TELNET as your frikin prot, you go for SSH. and wtf, whois, yes, thats the main command we want to learn. Whois and Ping. Great. shitty vid.

  • lonestar does very restrictive accounts, arbornet is better... runs on FreeBSD.

  • why not use ssh via putty?

  • wow unix I love it...

  • yep :)

  • Hope for more advanced sequel. Nice job!
