Does anyone have a recording of a song called 'My Friend Jack' by Cub Koda? I have some songs on a reel to reel tape that I don't think are on any albums but I don't have
@moediddles1 if anyone does we do in our archives somewhere as we control the majority of his publishing and later master catalog. Send an email via the Trod Nossel website with your contact info and the info you're requesting and we'll let you know if anything turns up.
I love Cub. Met him several times over the years. Factoid: I was wearing hot pink Chuck Taylors in Lip Service in L.A. back in 1979. May be where he got the idea from. Robin Williams hung out with us when we played at Madame Wong's China Town. Bob Dylan, George Martin (Beatles) and Chuck Negron (Three Dog Night) caught us a few times too as I understand it so Cub could have very well seem me back then in L.A. I met him first here in La Crosse at the National Food Store buying grub back in 1975.
Really funny , really pleasant fellow. He understood the connection between it all , you had Country , you had R'n'B , R'n'R , Blues , you name it....It was in his DNA....I would'nt call what Cub did with Brownsville Station Heavy Metal , but , if other people want to , what the Hell. Hilarious. Thank you.
The thing that held him back ware the round glasses and the "purest music" that he played. To me B.S. were kinda corny and didn't fit in with what my friends and I were listing to.-Hawkwind, Sabbath,Captain Beyond, Montrose etc. This didn't stop me from buying everything they put out but not everyone is a R& R Whore like me. Rest In Peace, Cub!
