  • as always, stunning!

  • They look like a cohesive unit built for fighting right here!

  • Do u buy your hat products from a store in your country called hobby bounties in katong or do you get it from ebay?

  • @ualuuanie -I only bought once from Hobby Bounties and that was Caesar stuff. HB do price their hat stuff higher than ebay.

  • dam good work..love it..!

  • also the spartan spear was up to 21ft long, there where 3 spear heads at the front, that is what made the Greek phalanx so effective against other similar units

  • Buenisimo trabajo

  • pure creativity at its finest when it comes to miniatures

  • Sweet!

  • Awesome as always!

  • @CubicleKK -Thanks mate. A few more to come.

  • hi, great job, i wish i had any artistic skills lol. but put them closer together, the shields overlaping like scales. sort of like this: ( ) ) ) ) ) ) if my drawing isnt too bad lol

  • @AlexTSilver -Thanks man. I'll do that on my next Greek phalanx unit. Should be tighter.

  • Very nice presentation. I also like the style of your painting. Good work!

  • Nicely done historical, my friend. It is really good to hear from you. Always can expect a showcase quality project, no matter what the genre...hope all has been well with you...and I hope to see more from you soon...it is always a treat...Jim.

  • @Jedijim252 Thanks Jim. It's ancient Greece season here at the moment.A Theban a army should up by next week.

  • Love what you did to the men. So much better than the original poses.

    Few questions though.

#1 Shouldn't a phalanx be a close knitted squad? Men covering each other with their shield.

#2 aren't the spears to short for a phalanx?

The Spartans sure had a different approach to the phalanx. I'm curious to know the reason behind this and not trying to be a smartass.

  • @PuppyZwolle -Thanks. That is correct sir. Not the smart ass part tho.lol. I did arranged the shields locked before this but they look too static. Although it should look like a solid wall, there is no sense of motion or excitement, well at least that was what I felt during the building process. Historical accounts vary about the spear length. Its between seven to nine feet long. So the spears are not actually too short. They just did not look as impressive as the Macedonian phalanx.

  • Excellent conversions !!!

  • @TGiorgos800 - Thanks my fren. I have a few more phalanx units to post soon. A Theban phalanx is next.:)

  • @2paintminiatures I m also making a Theban-Spartan battle diorama.

How did u made the letter Λ on the shield? Did u use epoxy putty?

  • @TGiorgos800 - Awesome! Is it Leutra or Mantinea? Cant wait to see it.:)

I cast the lambda letter using a press mold for each shield to get all looking the same. It is easier to paint too. Yes, that is green stuff epoxy.

  • Looks lovely, so much patience:)

  • @HQBunker -Thanks mate. A few more phalanx armies to come.

  • very good conversions,, did you do a few full greens to fill the ranks? or some just take more greenstuff. the new webpage is looking good to my friend.

  • @vanhammer73 - I did manage to cast a few to fill in the ranks and make extra heads. Have you heard of Instant mold? Its a great way to cast additional parts with greenstuff Van.

  • SO glad to see you back!!

  • @Harbaugh87 - Thanks man. Sorry, I forgot to say I'll b back the last time.:)

  • nice conversions!

  • @Mecha999x - Thanks mate.

  • very nice work. loved it

  • @MusiqueMMUS - Thank you. I have a few more Greek armies to post soon.

  • nice job. Keen eye to spot a potential conversion

  • @MoreDakka101 - Thanks man. Nothing escapes my green stuff fingers. :)

  • Wow. Great job.. They look great.

  • @jimeronimo - Thanks jim. I got back into plastic soldiers since they are looking much better nowadays. I just got another spartan set in an earlier period. They look great.

  • Absolutely brilliant work.. especially knowing how small these figures are... and how many.. :)

  • @BasicModelling - I'm working my way down to smaller scales now. It is a great way to challenge my eyesight which is not getting any better. Blood, sweat and the smell of piss. Remember the Spartans. :)

  • Great looking unit and good to see a vid from you!

  • @Generalsplatton - Thank you sir. I had to do up some ancient armies which is another love of mine. Needed sometime to experiment with plastic soldiers. They are small and they are many.:)

  • outstanding! so what is this essentially 15mm?

  • @Reaverhobbies - Ah! it's 1/72 scale or equivalent to 20mm. I've played with this scale as a kid. Only came back to paint them seriously several months back. Thanks mate.

  • That is Awesome!

  • Very nice! You know, one of these days, I'd like to hear you talk... :)

  • @DaemonWargaming -Why you don't like my singing voice in the video? lol. Thanks mate.

  • like it!

  • @Anglosaxon82 - Thanks man. More armies to come soon.:)

  • very nice.

  • perfection ; )

  • @TemplarsCrusade01 -Thanks for watching mate.

  • fantastic! this is art :)

  • @888HamilkarBarkas888 - Thanks Micheal. I have a few more Greek armies to paint and post. One more coming up very soon. In about a weeks time.

  • awesome, i see you went for the later period spartan look. a lot of work put in with the conversions too!

  • @ImmortalHardOn - Thanks. There's no late Spartans in 1/72 scale yet. I had to make em sooner or later. I'm glad it was sooner.:)

  • @2paintminiatures

ImmortalMinitures has a nice set of plastic Spartans from Peloponessian wars but they are 28mm though.

  • @ImmortalHardOn - Yes, I have seen those. They look great too. Tho only have a small collection for now. I would like to get them one day.

  • @2paintminiatures

Zvezda also has 1/72 spartans but those are the Thermopolea period and i dont really like the look of them

  • @ImmortalHardOn -I have that set. I have an idea on what to do with them. I think they will turn out great once painted and based.

  • @2paintminiatures

nice! what sort of idea is it? or is it a secret:D btw Zvezda got some action poses for swordsmen in Greek infantry set unless you are going for the static poses.

Im working on a few sets simultanously - both full 1/72 Alexander's army and 28mm greek phalanx. Once i get over 40 models in either army (and base them) i will probably make a vid too!

  • @ImmortalHardOn - I think i'll make a small 300 diorama out of them. I do have the Zvezda Greek set waiting to be worked on too. They r a bit taller than the Spartans. Let me know once you r done. I dont want to miss that one.

  • great video and very nice work :)

  • @CopenhagenCargo - Thanks Kasper.

  • havn´t seen you in a wile. good to have you back

  • @GirlPainting - Thanks Alex. It's good to be back again.:)
