  • Nomo retired from baseball (07/16/2008 )

  • i miss 1995. today had to come eventually :(

  • You gotta remember Nomo's been a pro since 1990! Theres not much interest in a 39 year old pitcher who sometimes struggles on the stretch.

One weakness that Nomo had was that he relied too much on his stuff. But he was pretty dominant in '95 and '96.

  • royals royally screwed nomo. his first appearance was ok he needed just one more out to go 3 scoreless innings and to finish the royals defensively for the night before the 2 HRs that was fine game was over anyways. second appearance he was ok except that he was not getting strike calls that he needed that the ump wouldn't give on like 2-0. was crap. then the 3rd appearance..he got the one out he needed with the pop up. so he pitched well. and he was on his way...SOMEONE TRADE FOR HIM HE IS GOOD

  • he still can pitch well i hope someone else gives him an opportunity

  • designated for assignment after getting what should have been the third out...what a way to get designated. he came in to get 1 out and basically got it on a fly ball and his shortstop lets the ball drop thinking he was called off. he got the next guy to hit one back to him but it turned out to be an infield hit. and then the next guy hits a 3 run HR. Nomo struck the next guy out but none of that was his fault. at least he got to face Ichiro and Hideki Matsui and he struck them both out.

  • the most important thing about nomo is that he has character. he perservered from being on top of the world to being kicked to the curb to coming back and being successful again to getting kicked to the curb again. now he's come back on his own terms and i'm happy for him. he can still turn it on when he's pitching

  • in oakland he got the third out on a popup but it was dropped. then 3 more runs scored.

  • well the results are mixed. he looks kinda simple to hit sometimes and the hitters just are not going to lose to that. yet he can still own and turn it on as he showed against Ichiro with no one out and runners at second and third. he struck out Ichiro (like Masumi Kuwata did) and the runner at second never scored. he struck out Hideki Matsui too because they couldn't follow the ball. hitters don't always try to follow the ball though

  • He's back! good job Nomo 3 innings 2 HGH meaningless solo HRs in last inning of work. watched him own Hideki Matsui with the bases loaded. ARod cheated on him, he was sitting and waiting for Nomo to throw him a fastball and he just met it with his bat and the rest is mostly steroids. Nomo should have thrown him something that he would have hit into an out. sometimes you have to do that to cheaters!! all the news shows is ARods homer because it's quick and it's NY. but NOMO OWNED GO NOMO!!!

  • my bad that's not right ARod put a HR swing on a hanging splitter, it was a good HR!

  • maybe Nomo should have respected ARod's drive for statistics a bit more on that splitter.

  • greatest geek ever

  • ARod commanded the strike zone better than Nomo before the pitch came. it was a good HR, but it's all HGH anyways so pfffffft

  • would be great if he pitched again. even in his last year in mlb he beat the yankees in yankee stadium and with the devil rays who usually got beat up there.

  • wow how did he get so fat? He used to be so skinny when he played in Japan. It must be that American food.

  • i wish he'd come back to a team i dont care what team itd just be nice if he returned

  • god the size of him! he looks like a japanese clemens!

  • great pitcher, great person

  • I miss him
